I did send the module to the crash data folks in the UK. Reinstalled and she worked flawlessly. Cannot speak to longevity because I no longer own the car.

You have straight cut gears, they are gonna be noisy. Ever owned a old air cooled VW? You never heard their gears, because they weren't straight cut.

Agree w/5Gear...never perosnally seen/heard of a broken tc. It would be nice if VW could find a way to go back to the gear driven valve train, but that would mean no tb service...all about the comeback IMO.

Save your $...undo your wire from battery terminals BOTH + and - from the battery and cross the wires together...5 mins should do it...this resets the ecu :)

...Also did YOU do your shock replacement? If so, did you replace your bumpstops? Make sure your bumpstops are there...without'em you're begging to blow your new shocks.
