This has been a long ordeal. I went back about ten pages as I frequently do when visiting these this thread over the months.
My situation, Purchased TDI in May 2013, totaled in January 2016, Title branded salvage but never removed from my name, never repurchased from insurance, etc.. Car just...
I totaled my car after september 2015 but before the recent string of court developments (lets call ot april 2016).
The car shows as a total lost in carfax, however i retained the car and stalled the insurance payout. I still have the title in my hand and the insurance company is hounding me to...
I tried to buy toyota parts at one dealer (combo dealership). Same parts counter but the counter guy refused saying it needs to be used for volkswagen parts only. I think he was just a really lazy guy.
I would be extremely weary of taking what VW says as gospel... even now there are contradicting documents. Until something is finalized we should expect anything to change.
I cant see #11 being plausible.. how could they accept that your insurance will cut you a check AND they will give you cash.. they would have a buttload of people crashing their cars on purpose after sep 2016
From what i can read in their proposal, any branded title is not eligible.. im not tryjng to spread false rumor, but im also not an english major.. to be eligible, you have to have an operable car, and they say an operable car is..
I hope im wrong as i am in the same boat amd yes insurance...
So i hate to burst this bubble, but reading through the proposed language i came upon this.. my reading of it brings me to the conclusion that people in your/our position are going to be swept under the rug unfortunately. We need to make sure our comments are heard when the time comes.
Ive gotta agree.. my thread on salvage/rebuilt/total loss vehicles was closed. I was just trying to keep the handful of us out there on topic.
Can you imagine trying to extract any information from just one thread? Its impossible to keep/follow anyone on any one topic with that many voices in...
Would like to stary this thread for the small subset of people in this unique situation. I havent read or seen anything for people in our boat.. has anyone else?
What are your plans?
Have you contacted volkswagen as of today to ask ehat their plans, if any, are for those affected by total loss?
I think those of us that have totaled our cars (count me in as a total loss) are dreaming if we expect to see a dime out of volkswagen.
We are few, which means we arent loud... our loss will be swept under the rug, if it is even mentioned in negotiations.
Best, best, best case is we get pre...
Yes.. went to dealer, they sent in info for the second set of cards, left dealer waiting to "recieve activation" email.. never recieved email from VW, cards not activated, no explanation.
Im kind of wondering what I should do, im thinking I should hold on to the car, even with a salvage title because it would only cost me 500$ +/-
Seems like a cheap gamble in the event VW makes right on the pre scandal market value.
I got an email from vw customer care, in response to what i sent them a while back... weeks or a month ago..
Anyobe else get something similar? Identifying information has been removed.
Would you guys buy back your total loss TDI from the insurance company for for under 1000 bucks? (550 value plus the cost of the tow home)?
I cant say i am happy with the figure they gave me, but really no other option... i am eithing taking the full payment, or taking the full payment less the...
