Wanting to get a VW Golf TDI, 10 or 11 if VW will ramp up production, but may get Jetta instead. How comfortable are the current Jetta seats for long trips? I kind of prefer the GTI/Golf seats, but need input. THANKS!

It will bump you to a prepared class. Which would be good, as you will want a stiffer rear sway bar to autocross a TDI. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but TDI's tend to understeer. A larger rear sway bar will make the car more neutral and fun to drive, both on the street and during an...

$ for $ it will be very close IMHO. The TDI will have better resale, a better interior, be mopre comfortable, etc. The Civic may or may not be more reliable. A civic can be had cheaper than a TDI. But I prefer the TDI driving experience, so I would go TDI, Just my two cents, ymmv. Chris

It will be interesting to see what happens with the new Prius, which gets rid of or mitigates some of the faults of the previous car. However, I still want a TDI and not a Prius. But I hope they sell lots of Priuses as well...more petro left for racing and autocrossing! Chris
