CJAA Head Bolt Upgrade (First time questions)

The cams do NOT need to come out to do the 12.9 bolts, only if you’re doing studs because not enough room for that socket. Neither does the belt - you rotate the cams to expose the notches to access the bolts. You want to do the whole procedure on each bolt before moving to the next so that you...

2014 Mk6 Sportswagon, trying to flush brakes

That is odd. Are you saying you cracked every bleeder and nothing from any of them? I’ve had bleeders get clogged and had to be thoroughly cleaned or replaced, but all four sounds suspect. What if you try old-school method with a helper on the pedal? The bleed order is a bit odd compared to...

2014 Mk6 Sportswagon, trying to flush brakes

10psi isn’t enough to pressure bleed. Erwin states there must be a positive pressure of 2bar to pressure bleed a MK6. You need to go higher but don’t go over 29psi.

Smelly delete and an aftermarket CAT?

Wow, thanks for kind words! It’s just a hobby of mine, but I’m a bit of a perfectionist - I do software development for work. The forum and its members have helped me immensely even if indirectly. This one is my daily so gets good use too 😎🤘 Absolutely give me a shout if you’re ever out this way!

Smelly delete and an aftermarket CAT?

It’s much less common to delete the ASV and usually something you would have to ask tuner for specifically because you got a “racepipe” that deletes both EGR valve and the ASV. Never heard of it being the default. They can get stuck open - better than stuck closed lol. Is it unplugged and you...

    Frickin Bolts

I used to have the same problem so you’re not alone. For which bolts to buy, I like to find a VW dealer site and use the parts lookup diagrams. Once you have the number for one of the bolts do another google search on it. Some companies like fcp, idparts, etc will sell bolt “kits” for commons...

Smelly delete and an aftermarket CAT?

Sure, here’s my CJAA Golf. Plenum cover is off because I started a new coilover install today so just ignore that. For the ProVent, I cut and bent a bracket from steel plate and used top driver side headlight bolts for mount point on this one. This car has a GTB2260 with a pie-cut intake I...

Advantages to a 04L 906 054 Rail Pressure Sensor over stock

Gotcha, so are you allowed to simply have an external fan setup on the ground in front between runs without being penalized? That could help and would be pretty easy.

Advantages to a 04L 906 054 Rail Pressure Sensor over stock

So you’re obviously aware the IC is sandwiched between the AC condenser and radiator with the 2 stock fans covering the back side of the radiator. Where are you going to add more fans and why would you even want to go to the trouble? If heat soak is an issue for you, you’d be better off just...

Smelly delete and an aftermarket CAT?

ProVents are great and I have them installed on two cars - a CJAA Golf and a CKRA Passat both big turbo straight piped. They keep the intake tracts sparkly clean but they both still stink pretty bad when idling… The AN stuff looks really nice @McGuirk! I might have to upgrade my fittings, but...

    CP3 fuel pump upgrade thread

He does and he also has a version of his billet lower rear cover to go with it (fluidampr version without rib for stock pulley). I run them both on my MK6 Golf (6-speed) with the Vibra-technics engine/trans mounts and subframe + dogbone bushings with an 1100rpm idle. Car is planted, wheel...
