IBW, I have almost 20K miles on my '10 Golf. I've never had to fill up under 500 miles. I live up off of 495 and my daily commute is 35 miles each way to Andover. I normally drive 75-80, keeping it closer to 75 these days. Since late spring I've been usually getting 46-49 mpg on the daily...

Sold...though not to someone here on the club, at least to someone who knows and appreciates diesels of the non-VW variety.

Actually, at least in their (consumer reports) most recent ratings posted on their website, the Golf TDI is the highest rated small hatchback/wagon. Its predicted reliability is the filled in red circle...that is excellent, the highest mark given. And the only two small cars with higher...
