Ideas for spending dealer "goodwill" money?

Looking for ideas on what OEM parts to buy with $50-100 on the dealer "goodwill" card to close it out. I already got the parts for 40k maintenance and rear window shades. It now looks like I'll return the car before 60k, so that leaves me with $50-100 after getting the 50k maint parts, depending...

    FS: Injection pump seals '96-03

Yes. I had to order 2 of them from DG, and only had one car that needed it.

    2011 JSW Mileage Expectation

PacketHauler — As you alluded to, I would reserve judgment until spring/summer. Cold temps seem to affect fuel use quite a bit in our '13 JSW, plus I suspect winterized diesel has lower energy content. I've been surprised that it seems to take 20-30 min of highway driving for the indicated MPG...

    2013 VW Sportwagen--Got it today!

Oh, you might want to specify which 6-speed you have, since all TDI JSWs have that many gears :D

    2013 VW Sportwagen--Got it today!

Congrats! My wife and I are loving our 2013. We both preferred that lovely blue... but out here in the sparsely populated Mountain West, we settled for a black/black car because that was what we could get in a reasonable timeframe. We have the same equipment, thought kept the stock 17"...

    Samsung Galaxy S4 Compatibility

Or, you can get a cheapie MDI to USB cable, then plug in your USB to MicroUSB cable. I don't have personal experience with this MDI cable, though was thinking about getting one for my Galaxy S4 (which has been working great via Bluetooth)...

    MK6 at higher altitudes

As others have said, it's no problem. I live at 6200' and we take our JSW to 8000'+ routinely. My previous TDI (a comparatively rudimentary ALH) was tuned to stage III with the stock turbo, effectively using up the air-delivery headroom that you'd have on a stock car. When I moved from 1500'...

    Two-stage ESC?

Sweet! Just did this and it worked. The trick for me was to answer "no" to the VCDS prompt that the module was uninitialized. Thanks to you and diamond.g. I'm not going to be doing a lot of 9/10s driving in my TDI wagon, though I like to know that I can disable the electronic nannies — if...

    Two-stage ESC?

Having driven a 2010 Golf TDI with the hill-cresting "feature," I'd guess that you'd immediately notice the difference.

Mk6 - the little things that impressed me/you

What I've observed is that you get a single rear wipe when shifting into reverse if the front wipers are on, and continuous rear wiping if the rear wiper is on. Very thoughtful. The only trouble comes if you have a rear-mounted bike rack installed and have the front wipers on while reversing!

    Two-stage ESC?

Indeed! That's the first link in my post. Thanks for providing the info originally. I'm trying to resolve the conflict between info linked down the line.

    Two-stage ESC?

I'd like to be able to disable ESC as well as traction control on my '13 JSW. This thread gives some info and links to 'Vortex: But... there's conflicting info. The second link in the above post links here, and the first link in the first post suggests not making the byte 14 change on TDIs...

Good price for a new JSW?

Ended up at $26.5k out the door including doc fee, excluding tax and registration (buying out of state). The 0% financing deal also includes VW making the first payment up to $500, so the effective price is $26k, or a bit lower if we're talking real 2013 dollars :) Picking up the car this...

Good price for a new JSW?

Thanks for the responses. It sounds like I've been offered a good price, but might have a little more wiggle room. Upsbroke, I like the idea of asking to have the doc fee waived.

Good price for a new JSW?

I've started looking at new JSWs after finding that there are few used ones to be had for a reasonable price. The second dealer I talked to offered me this over the phone: '13 JSW TDI 6MT Sunroof MSRP: $28,660 less $2000 less $500 for cash deal or first payment free (up to $500) if financed...

WTB: 2010-11 Jetta Sportwagen TDI 6MT

I'm wanting to rejoin the TDI family after a year hiatus, and am looking for a JSW with a manual trans (only) and a sunroof. Nav is not important, and I'd rather not pay for it. An unmodified car with a documented service history would be ideal. Ballpark $19-20k. Thanks.
