Lithium batteries are not best run flat before charging. That is nickel cadmium battery recommendation. Lithium can be charged at any point in it's operating range with no negative consequences.
Other than discharging so quickly that they can burn the starter this is pretty spot on. I have been running a set of super capacitors for a starting battery for over 10 years now and haven't lost a single starter. super capacitors can dump just as much if not more current into the starter than...
That looks broken not stripped.
Drill a hole down the middle and use a bolt extractor
Or alternatively, put a nut over it and weld through the center joining the nut to the bolt giving it a new head to wrench on
And lastly, drill a hole down the center and fill it up with concentrated nitric...
My Jetta vents leak hot air all the time even when the knob is set to full cold and fans to zero or really any speed. Changing the hot/cold knob doesn't seem to make any difference. Makes me think the blend door is stuck or the actuator has failed

Apparently reCAPTCHA is no longer capable of stopping bots. But just using the question "what does TDI stand for" would be a good start at blocking the majority
Any explanation as to why so many seem to be located that address in Los Angeles? I've blocked dozens of spammers/bots on another forum and a large percentage seem to have addresses from this location and using T mobile. Makes me think there is a particular Internet server/service provider run...
Another interesting thing I noticed is many of these spam bots seem to be using IPs that point to a server in Los Angeles. And I see that most are T mobile service providers. I think T Mobile has an Internet server in Los Angeles and it must be unsecure or have lac standards as many seems to be...
I'm an admin on another forum and we had a similar issue with spammers getting through. Site admin tried many different things to keep them out. What seemed to work best was the question control at the registration. Basically a question that people who are familiar with the vehicle would know...
This is an area not to skimp on. There are enough stories here about water pump, idlers or tensioners failing and taking out the timing belt causing valve piston contact or carnage. Don't let one of the accessories go twice as long as it's recommended replacement mileage.
You might get away...
Fix it. Don't let these TDIs go to waste. If you don't want it, someone here might
If I remember correctly, I did a colt cam for $350, and a good timing belt kit is about the same cost. So for under a grand you can do what you say is needed
Ok, did a 20k mile fluid change on the DSG. The red ATF came out looking pretty darn new. Bright red. No signs of debris, discoloration or burning.
Filled it up from the filter housing location with more dex 3 and Lucas.
I have two 20k mile runs using ATF now. 40k miles total. Might just...
