I hope Ira's non-response is not out of embarassment. Taking a sweet new PD to Toyota for service would be a sin. If it was a VW dealer, raise hell. How they don't know this by now is unbelievable to me. For what it's worth, the guys at Momentum VW in Houston were down with 505.01 back in January.

Re: diesel additive what\'s good what\'s bad??? Isn't Stanadyne what VW recommends? This is the first I've heard of adverse effects to oil. I use Techron in my gasser and have had no problems on oil analysis. I haven't done anything yet with my diesel but I'll post something if it turns up.
