Well got the wonderful CEL yesterday. Wife took the car in and they are saying the oxygen sensor in the CAT needs replaced. Of course they don't have the part in stock to fix it. Looks like they are going to try and get to it next week sometime. I'll keep you posted on what I find out. Car...

Wife was visiting her parents over the holiday week. Guess where her mom decided to try to turn her minvan? Sounds like she took the rear quarter out. Black exterior, this should be interesting. Our previous two cars lasted a couple months before damage, so nothing new here!

No one has done it yet that I know of, the head unit seems capable of doing it, will just have to see who will be the first to try it. I'm interested as well.

It is definately possible. Some of the guys on VWVortex have already done it. They are using parts off of other VW models to make it look and perform like OEM.

Not that familiar with all the VW wheels. Figured it would have been the same specs as the San Jose wheel listed in the link. Didn't figure they would have more than one San Jose wheel.

I wouldn't change a thing on mine.

I drove both before purchasing. I don't think the mpg is impacted all that much. I can tell you that the 17's ride better and are quiter. Didn't notice much handeling difference as well. 18" Tires are much more expensive.

The 16" alloys fit! It's tight, to the point they may not be able to use inside weights, but they fit.

Thanks! And I have confirmed that the brakes are the same on all models so I think we are good to go for 16's! I'll know for sure in about a week.
