Anyone else have a problem with interior panels vibrating?

My 2011 TDI Highline was extremely tight, rattle free in the first few months. Then, 2 months ago, a very anoying clicking sound in the center console showed its ugly face... When I grab the plastic gear shift console it dissapears. It seems to me that the 2 plastic elements forming the radio...

Why is diesel fuel suddenly more expensive than regular in Canada?

Prices for diesel have been lower (in Canada) than regular for months and, suddenly, they ar are WAY higher ( 0,13$ in Québec this morning! ). Does anyone know the reason? Is this the same every year in winter time? Thanks!

    Joda alloy wheel size problem...

Hi, I have the Canadian Highline TDI and the OEM Joda wheels fitted with 225/45-17 tires. Problem is I want to put winter 205/50-17 tires and I'm not absolutely sure it will fit (almost certain though...). On some Internet sites I saw the Joda wheels have a size of 17" by 7" (width) but...

Winter tires Michelin PA3, Nokian Hakk R, or Gislaved>

I had the 3 tires you mentioned. Best so far has been the Continental Extremewinter contact. It his rated ABOVE the Nokian in all the reviews I have read. And way above the Gislaved in my own experience. http://www.autos.ca/auto-product-reviews/winter-tire-review-continental-extremewintercontact

Get me a REAL armrest, pleaaaaaze!

Well, since you had a Challenger, no surprise you find the armrest fine... Anyone who has better taste and owned a MKV will find the MKVI armrest lacking. As for your 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock theory, it's nothing more than a stupid rumor. In fact it's dangerous and not recommended for airbag...

The MKVI torsional rigidity is fantastic

I' m so surprised no one has mentioned the exceptional torsional rigidity of the MKVI body. After months of driving it, I'm still impressed by how well it absorbs bumps, road irregularities and how it gives you a sense of robustness. The assembly quality, especially the exterior, is also...

    Semi independent suspension? Yeah, sure...

I have read in some reviews/Internet sites that the MKVI had a rear semi independent suspension. So out of curiosity, I had a look at my TDI rear suspension the other day and I was stunned to discover that it had an axle beam with trailing arms and a panhard rod. AN AXLE BEAM! I couldn't...

    Sirius Radio

Well, with 6 cd, MDI interface + sd card reader that can store way more than a THOUSAND songs, why in THE HELL would someone want Sirius!!?? These days people get so much bills with technology you have to draw the line somewhere. Anyway, the radio/media unit audio quality in the MKVI is crap...

New TDI 1k miles... MPG and other thoughts

In the first 1000 Km. I got 27 mpg., 90% city with an incredible amount of stops and go. The more stops/lights in a given amount of miles, the less the mpg. REMEMBER THIS. That's why no one is similar and there are so much confusions on the matter. Now, at 1 600 Km. my mpg is nearing 30 with a...

Hi, Just received this recall by mail (no U1 2014) for my 2011 TDI (Canada). Strange, as it seems it also applies to many VW 2010 models. Any others who received this? Pierre Racine, Canada
