Lost electric steering assist. Could use advise.

Thanks a bunch Wilkins and everyone one else. Turns out I missed wire damage on my first "pretty thorough " inspection. Second inspection found 3 severed wires just past what Wilkins post identified as the T6X connector. A bit of a pita freeing up all the wiring harness in order to get working...

Lost electric steering assist. Could use advise.

Thanks STDOUBT. I wasn't aware I could do that. The foxwell is a neighbor's, and I'm a novice with any scanner. Looked up afew of those using the Ross wiki link provided, both indicate low voltage could be culprit. Thinking I'll need a wiring diagram, beer and somebody who knows what their doing.

Lost electric steering assist. Could use advise.

I posted a less informed (and mis informed)version in the mk6 forum, but thought I'd widen the net here. Went to run an errand, started vehicle (2013 jsw mt). Idiotlights for steering, traction, tps light up, and the speedo information display is wildly scrolling through Bluetooth options. Shut...

    Lost power steering need direction.

Went to run an errand, started vehicle (13 jsw mt). Idiotlights for steering, traction, tps light up, and the speedo information display is wildly scrolling through Bluetooth options. Shut down and restart vehicle. Same Idiotlights. Check accessory belt and ps fluid, both ok. Begin trip, sure...

What exactly does the Dieselgate Warranty cover?

Super, Thanks again. I have the manual version https://vwdiesellookup.com/pdf/VWCourtSettlement_Emissions_Disclosure_Gen1_Manual_Final.pdf But suggesting I have it with is a great idea. For others the Warranty and Procedures bulletin for:  2009 MY Jetta with engine code CBEA  2010 – 2014 MY...

What exactly does the Dieselgate Warranty cover?

Thanks. Are you referring to the August 20, 2019 warranty policies and procedures bulletin? (Below) https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10164244-0001.pdf

What exactly does the Dieselgate Warranty cover?

Hi all, my JWS is within emissions warranty period. I’ve got a P2196 code and (I think) an intermittent loss of mileage. My question is, is the O2 sensor covered by emissions warranty? I can’t see how it’s not, but I don’t want to pay VW service to diagnose ($120 min, I guess) and then tell me...

Anyone have premature front coil spring failure?

2013 JSW manual. 48xxx miles. While I cannot attest to the first 38xxx miles, I can tell you, I haven’t curbed or hit a large pothole at any kind of speed. Snapped about 8 inches off of one of the coil ends. Strut mount also failed, but that could have been a result of coil spring failure...

    Mk4 fuel sending unit

Should I be able to hear the fuel sending unit (in the tank) when I turn the key to run? The backstory: I’m trying to resurrect my 02. It ran when mothballed and, continued to start when I would periodically start it, that is until presently. Cranks like an in-law. Checked fuel filter (water...

    JSW IC Hose Sludge Fix

Theoretically How aggressive should it be driven? Is it a question of MPH? And could you define "right before" in terms of distance or time? I like the approach, but I may not be able to facilitate the procedure very close to my house. Could the procedure be replicated in the garage, say with...

What did you pay for your 'fixed' CPO TDi

Just bought 6speed man, JSW. 38xxx, sunroof. No nav (I enjoy being lost) and no camera. No CPO, $11,900. Body and interior mint for the mileage. Had to pound 300 mile on It to get it home before any maintenance. Fingers crossed.

01M issues, should I ditch it?

I'll let someone else more capable handle the code issue. Since you didn't give the transmission milege, I'll assume your north of 150xxx miles. If you are and haven't changed fluid and filter yet (~$100) that could be advised, however the problem you described (grinding, power loss) sounds a...

    TDI vs gas breakeven point

[/IMG] [/IMG] Above are a couple of graphs i did a while ago on this subject. My opinion is that economically, there is no justification for the Diesel, Unless your doing something illegal like using AG-diesel or home heating oil. I think that if you maintained any (ok yugos' not...

    Information needed!

Just spitballin.... Is there a relationship between Warrantees and information provided? A "just what ever you do, don't touch it" attitude? BTW....Big ticket equipement is no different....$100,000 gets you 3 pages of how to adjust the seat, but not much else. Another thought, is it just a...

    Help

hey there, I hope you find this forum as helpful as I do. All of the above are very good suggestions, and I have little more to offer. If you are "new" to auto repair, you'll find out how to do most anything in the threads created. Like removing your serp belt or say where the hell the turbo...
