    Well I checked my log. I replaced both at 200K when I got the car and I think one more, just didn't write it down. Also two on my step dad 1998. I'm did them myself and was very careful to use correct tools and procedure. Sorry about the confusion. Too many vehicles ...can't keep them...

    I have a 1998 Jetta with 362K on it. I have a the WA WA WA sound going down the road, varies with speed, brakes have no effect on sound. The only thing that effects it is when I'm turning hard left, like making a quick swerve in the road...then it stops until I come out of the left turn...

    Noise in front end / steering wheel

    I noticed a knocking /vibration on the way into work this morning. Felt like it was in the steering wheel / axle. Only happens when not under load. Let off accelerator and I get the noise. Any ideas? Thanks!

    You need to try and fix the fan. The controller is on the drivers strut tower. Compressor has a high head pressure cutout switch. With no air flow pressure goes up.     Compressor going out on high head pressure. Get fan fixed.AC will work. Not sure if it thread applies to A3.

    I used the JB Weld and then took a magnifying glass and took a close look at the jb as some got broke etc during my work. Motor started right up and ran as before. No Vag com Thanks
