I am not talking about sales tax. I am saying that VW is going to be giving all of us affected money which either the state or government most likely feels they deserve there percentage. I didn't know if there is an amount they can give before you need to pay taxes on it.

I tried the search with no results answering my question. For all of us in dieselgate how does the buyback or fix affect us in taxes. I would assume taxes would have to be paid to a corporation that is going to be handing over checks or EFT's.
