Only once since I have owned by 2014 Q5 did the DPF warning symbol light up. I took it for a vigorous drive on the freeway at night (I drove it like a raped ape) to force a regen and all has been good so far and that was about 6 months ago.
Just for clarity's sake, some of you are passing the new, stricter emissions testing which is supposed to flag aftermarket tuning without flashing back to OEM software first? And does this apply to all years or only pre-2005?
I have now cycled through two full tanks of 76 RD; I must say it does start up quicker and runs slightly smoother and quieter. I do not notice much of any loss of power or mpgs. Seems like a good replacement so far.

There were two rounds of emissions "fixes". The first one was so long ago now I don't recall the exact details but I believe they only replaced the DPF and a glow plug. The second round was much more involved. I still have the printout; here is the summary:

Glad to hear everything is okay now. Oddly enough, my DPF light came on for the first time ever about two weeks ago. I gave it a thrashing on the local freeway and all is well now. I'm at 65k miles and this never happened before.
I bought the DTUK TCU flash from Europe. Not as good as a custom TCU tune but much better than factory and is especially noticeable in Sport/Dynamic. I believe it's just more performance-oriented OEM settings from another more high-performance model with the 3.0 TDI.
The only "downside" is on the newer NA model TDI's, the HPFP is located below/behind the turbo making installation of the metering valve a pain. With that said, the additional low-end torque is definitely noticeable, similar to taking it from stock to stage 1 tuning. I may have lost 1 or 2 mpgs...
