Hasn’t shuttered like it was since. It’s been so long I don’t exactly recall what it was doing. My Odyssey is the only car I have trans issues with currently.
It’s not deleted so it can sometimes be noisy under certain rpm loads uphill at lower speeds. But I toss it in sport mode and that...
20min isn’t quite enough to not have issues it seems. 35-45min seems to be a sweet spot, much more is ideal.
Delete and tune if you can. I’m still babying mine but I know it’s a matter of time. Eco diesel makes a kit and tune, they’re the only one that has a way to do the DSG tune on your own...
How many miles is she driving on her typical daily commute? If she’s at college it can’t be much. These emission intact common rails are not very dependable for in town driving. I’ve put about 45,000mi on mine since 2021 and it’s been by far the most dependable vehicle I’ve owned in 20+yr. Mine...
Yeah I bought the cheaper filter housing, changed my oil and less than 2k mi later, changed it and my oil again. I was pretty pissed that oil was going to waste already being the expensive Mobile ESP VW507 spec oil. Rubber hoses always get stuck. I have a set of booger pickers that I use to...
The lock carrier is a fancy name for what's more commonly known as the radiator core support. I haven't had it off this car but from what I've read it comes off pretty easy on this body.
For the hose that your struggling with. It is likely the coolant hose on the side of the oil filter housing...
I just did mine the weekend before last. It wasn't super easy like other belts. Yes I used G40 now. The dealer flushed G13 through mine like 12 times and it kept clogging. My oil cooler took a dump so I had to do a drain and fill. G13 was on backorder at the dealer. They told me get G40. So I've...
I tried this on my 13' B7 Passat CKRA. I drained the coolant out of the oil pan and by the time it was just oil coming out I figured I probably had 2qts of oil out already. There is quite a bit of coolant that makes its way into the oil system especially if you opt to not remove the really tough...
Make sure you drain your oil. It dumps tons of coolant into the oil.
As for the cooling system I’ve flushed my CKRA with prestone cooling system flush. I’ve left it in for a week in a bad case on this car and others.
Great point. I had mine in for other things and told them to do the same thing. They ended up replacing the injectors and the transmission because both days they drove in the morning it had an engine shutter then transmission codes.
Yeah both the surface that the oil cooler mounts too, which I didn't remove from the new unit. And the surface that mounts to the block were noticeably warped allowing oil and coolant to leak on mine. I think if that were an issue here you would have an external leak though, you already said you...
I had an amazon oil filter housing go bad after about 1,500 mi. It actually warped on the mating surfaces. The gaskets looked perfect too. Depending on which aftermarket unit you got, I'd be suspicious of the cooler or filter housing leaking internally.
I thought about doing the same. This time I went with a Nissens unit from UroTuning. Comparing the three, Amazon, Nissens, OEM. The Amazon unit looks like a different type of plastic all together. Its a dark black glossy dark plastic whereas the OEM unit and the Nissens are a flat black or...
If your under emissions warranty leave the code and take the car to the dealer. They did all 4 of mine and handed me a rental for free. My valve cover leaked oil after and that was on me since I didn't complain right then and there. If it leaks after they have to put a new valve cover in it...
I put an Amazon one in 3 weeks ago. Its already leaking coolant and oil. Not heavily or anything but it is beginning to slowly seep. I torqued everything to spec, cleaned the gasket mating surface with scotch brite until it was corrosion free too. It had no leaks for the first week of running...
@Perkins98
The supply chain is just ****** right now. I've been calling the dealer for the past 3 weeks because I need to get some G13 to drain and fill my Passat. Its on backorder and they are getting Zerex G40 from the parts stores lol. About 1000mi ago I put in a coolant flush additive...
That's insane that so many have been waiting on a turbo that long. I hope mine lasts a while, but we shall see. My mileage has been low as of late. I've been lucky to get 36mpg out of a tank. So something is on its way out.
I just did my oil cooler/filter housing yesterday. It wasn't the easiest thing. Some of the clamps can be a pain.
One thing that worked well for the clamp on the upper side of the intercooler was a long set of needle nose from the bottom of the car.
The hose clamp on the driver side of the oil...
Good to hear. I found an oil leak into my injectors yesterday, Its creating a pool of oil around them . I'm suspecting the dealer didn't replace the valve cover when they did these... SMH.
