The belt can be installed with a tooth off in a CVCA (2015) engine, and the car starts and runs...but then complaints about cam to crank correlation. Which is what happened to me the first time I did the belt in my Passat.

@Hooptywagen : I guess the better question is, do you enjoy wrenching? I am no mechanic, but I do enjoy the challenge of wrenching on my own cars. Was I nervous the first time I was doing a clutch, or a timing belt...hell yeah, but I can follow directions and I own my mistakes (if made), so now...
I did miss that....Find a friend (with a house) that can let you delete comes springtime, or some places have lift bays for rent (although this is risky for something you have never done).

Be observant of the fuel filter. I change mine every other oil change. When you change the fuel filter have a look on the bottom of it for metal flakes, inspect the filter media for flakes, unplug the metering valve and inspect the screen for flakes.
