I recently posted where did all the old technical threads go? Here is another one which was covered as well as the one on trunk latches. For people new to this site, they would never know how much material is out there, but hidden..why not unhide the technical stuff to be more user friendly?
I know there are space limitations for servers, but There was a ton of valuable technical info in this area Which has been vaporized. Is it archived somewhere? What is the criteria for killing technical threads? I understand killing chit chat with no value add. Thanks
Have the one that came with the protection kit. Like the waterproof side for sloppy stuff and the carpeted side to help keep stuff from sliding. I keep a blue tarp 4x6 in the cubby above the spare and pull that out when I fold down the seats and am carrying messy stuff. Works well.
Even after the fix, when in third gear the car jerks a bit. It’s not major but annoying. Anyone experienced this and or have a fix? No other gears do this. Doesn’t matter if the car is hot or cold.
No list or wait required at mine. Called a week in advance to schedule, drove in and picked up loaner car, drove back later that day and picked it up. It was that easy.
I would go to another dealer if you have your authorization
Yes 10k miles for oil and filter according to the manual. My very knowledgeable mechanic sho has a VW diesel with 350K as well as other threads on this board agree that to insure maximum engine longevity, as well as a VW tech I know, say oil and filter every5K. I would rather error on the...
A battery is not universal. You will need the correct cranking amps and the correct constant voltage. Check the specs of your old battery and compare. If not really close you will need to shell out some coin.
I would hold the wiper arm while tightening down the nut if you are concerned. Just don’t go crazy over tightening. From experience, having it tight and giving it a bit more ‘for insurance’ can cost you.
I would take it in as is and tell them you are there for the fix and leave it at that. My high pressure turbo charge pipe had a crack and was leaking oil all over my driveway and they fixed it under warranty on my 2010 JSW, so you have nothing to lose.
My 2010 Sportwagen keeps making money.
$5,500 from VW for neutering, $350 from Bosch, original customer loyalty $1000 VW Visa/debit, free repair on cracked turbo intake pipe and the car was bought using $5000 cash for clunkers. Brings the cost of ownership keeps coming down, and 43MPG mixed...
But then when the main form of transportation was the horse and those infernal combustion engines first appeared, the horsey set never thought they would be successful.
In my few years on this planet I have learned that change is constant. What was the way to do something becomes relegated to...
Very sorry to hear about all your losses. After what I have read about the flood prone nature of the Houston area (100 significant floods since its founding) I would take the insurance and raise the house and garage 6 feet.
Just picked it up today after the fix and drove City streets, the interstate at 75, and a two lane highway and it feels like it picked up a few hp especially on boost. Even if I lose a couple of mpg, it's extra spunk is worth it. What a relief it doesn't drive like a dog. Whew. i really like...
Really love my 2010 with 60,000. I haul 8' 2X4s, my dog, my racing bike, sacks of everything and when empty, haul @$$ through the corners in a great road car. 34 combined and 50 mpg highway ain't bad either.
Issues so far, had to reconnect and silicone the 4 sunroof drains and the radio...
