sadly, definitely "turning it in" when time comes but still couldn't bring myself to cheap out on the oil as the parts place guys suggested (just using what I have).
Found some Top Tech 4200 locally for a billion dollars and $.50 ... just couldn't bring myself to cheat on her with some bad oil...
Found a deal on:
"Liqui Moly 2039 Longtime High Tech 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil - 5 Liter Jug"
I missed it when I bought it but it only says:
"VW 502 00 / 505 00 / 505 01"
no 507 00 listed anywhere on the jug
SOOOO, just to confirm (before I throw away $70+ in oil) there is no way I should...
I'd like to purchase a 2017 Wolfsburg Tiguan before winter to replace my not so winter-nimble 2012 Golf TDI Tech package.
Technically, what is the latest word on the buy-back? I'm not making a move to buy anything until I know for sure what VW plans to do.
Think it'll be before winter?
Thanks!
Thanks for the response. I'll definitely call the dealer this week.
Can you send me a link or the instructions on how to operate the valve using the VCDS? I do have the Ross tech I've been using to prime my fuel filter for the past 100k worth of fuel filter changes.
So for the first time in 107,000 miles my 2012 TDI tech package Golf threw a CEL.
I have a bluetooth ODB scanner for pulling codes and the code recovered was a P047f
Exhaust Pressure Control Valve "A" Stuck Open
I found many threads about this most recommending both maintenance and...
no, no, I have the torx wrenches now - I just want to replace the roughed up OEM torx screws at next fuel filter change.
Guess I'll call the stealership tomorrow too..
I didn't have the right Torx wrenches when I pulled my fuel filter out last time so I roughed up the 5 or 6 Torx screws holding the fuel filter top down on my 2012 TDI.
I looked on idparts (where I've been getting nearly all my maintenance stuff from) and can't find them on there.
Does anyone...
Bought my 2012 4dr golf TDI tech package feb of 2012. Just rolled over 50k miles and just did my second oil change myself.
I have some observations/questions.
I drain my oil using the oil pan drain plug on bottom (I removed the filter cap first which is actually a really nice trick) but after...
If you find something that supports HD radio and doesn't look cheap post-I've been researching a replacement head unit since the day I bought by tech package tdi - - the 315 is shameful
- I didn't have a turkey baster but next time I'm at the store I'm getting one.
- I DID rotate the tires and easily reset the service interval (just using the MDF)
- I noticed on myturbodiesel they mentioned the order which you open the drain plug/filter cap makes a difference. I will open cap...
So, as with most I had my last "free" 30k maintenance and hit 40k this week.
I went on idpart.com and purchased oil, oil filter, fuel filter, cabin filter, engine intake filter and VCDS.
Notes from my experience:
This guide was GREAT...
My thought is if the HPFP goes at least I can say "yeah, but you morons changed my fuel filter, not me"
I've watched the process of changing the fuel filter- I totally agree- looks really easy to do. But if it absolutely needs primed to avoid engine/pump failures I'm not taking the chance...
Manual says air filters due.
Maybe the Castro gold isn't the cream of the crop of oil but I'm sure for 10k it'll be fine until I have more time to sort this out
ok, am rapidly approach 40k miles and want to do my oil+filter.
Want to use OEM oil filter and some 507.00 oil. I'd prefer to get it off Amazon (for ease sake).
Just to confirm oil filter for MKVI GOLF TDI: 071 115 562 c
I went to IDPARTS but not confident in the oil they sell (never heard of...
It recommends a wiring harness but I don't see how this wiring mitigates the problem- you're still pulling that wattage through original wires at some point right?

What happens if I try and put these in? 80w! Would it fry my wires?
