Yes, that worked. Got the "1000" after an hour or so and was able to enter the code. Radio now fully functional!

Thanks for the confirmation that will probably solve the problem. I had to take the radio out and put in another one temporarily because my wife is taking the car for the day tomorrow. I'll try to get the code in after leaving it powered for an hour tomorrow night.

I have the code ready to go but I can't enter it until "SAFE" changes to "1000". I am now suspecting there were some repeated failed attempts with the wrong code before I acquired the radio, will have to try leaving the radio on for an hour to see if that helps.
