    Need A/C fault code help

I have a 2011 Jetta TDI that the A/C has been acting funny lately. It will act fine, then cut off like it's on the vent setting (with no A/C). I ran VCDS & got this. Can someone please explain this in plain English??? I do all my own basic maintenance, but not much more than that. I...

    30,000 miles in 11 months...

I think I meant that the fuel filter has to be done every 20K miles. Otherwise it's just the oil/filter. Or refer to your owners manual. :D

    30,000 miles in 11 months...

Check out my links above. I am not a gear head & did my 40k service for @ $150. I'm coming up on my 60k, which is basically the same as 40k.

    30,000 miles in 11 months...

The 40K mile service is easy to do. I would suggest getting a VCDS cable for the fuel filter. I was surprised how easy it was to do. Oil change. http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/8p/A3-TDI-oil-change.htm Fuel filter http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/a5/2009-2010-VW-TDI-fuel-filter.htm...

How much mileage out of brakes?

Ok. So I should be good for a while. I do mostly highway driving & usually down shift before applying the brakes. Thanks guys

How much mileage out of brakes?

How much mileage should I expect out of the front & rear brakes? IIRC I was told that it's opposite of most cars, the rears wear quicker on the Jetta at about 2/1 ratio vs the fronts. I have 67K miles, mostly hwy.

    What Kind of Mileage?

My 2011 Jetta 6 speed manual gets about 40 mpg. Obviously it depends on your hwy/city mix & driving habits. I'm pretty aggressive with it & prob do 70/30 in favor of hwy miles. It has 67K miles. My best on a long trip was @ 45-46 mpg, fully loaded, minimal cruise control, pushing 80 mph, A/C on.

Dont own a TDI yet...School me on TDIs Please....

The new Golf's get the same MPG as the Jetta's, so I'm guessing the older ones aren't much different. I'd get a manual trans & teach her how to drive it. Much less maintenance involved, much better driving experience IMO. If you like to tinker around with your cars on occasion the VW would be...

dealer put 4.1 extra quarts of oil in my TDI Jetta

When I took my Jetta in for the 20K service the dealer messed it up. I was confident going there since the 10K service went fine. For the 20K they put in the previous spec oil (not 507) & did not change the fuel filter. It was not on the parts list & there were no fingerprints on the dirty...

Look for a second opinion from an independent VW mechanic.

See below. That's what I was talking about. Delete the VW from your phone & re-pair them.

First service this morning. Dealer won't change settings : (

Find a local guy that can do the changes for you. I did when I first got mine. Now I have a VCDS cable.

    AC not working properly

Yeah, I did it last night. I got no error codes. Other than that, I wasn't really sure what I was looking at with the numbers, etc. It did look like I was limited in what the VCDS could do with the climate control system. I'll scan it again & see if I can get any other readings. I notice...

    AC not working properly

I just ran the VCDS & got no codes. Now I'm more confused. It did act a little better today while driving, it was only in the mid 90's today. When I ran the VCDS with the engine on, both fans were on & it cooled. If I turned the engine off, but ignition switch on, the fans were not...

    AC not working properly

I have a 2011 Jetta with 55k miles. It's been really hot in Texas lately, averaging anywhere between 100-105 every day. My AC intermittently gets lukewarm, then gets cold. It doesn't seem to matter if it's at idle at a stop light or going 70 mph. I've switched back & forth between fresh...
