Have you figured out what was wrong? I did the same thing, put the 180 relay in the number 12 spot on my 96 b4 and I heard a faint pop sound now the car just cranks but won't start and I have no lights come on on the dash at all

Hey warthog, I had the same thing happen yesterday all though I'm the fat fingered mechanic that did it in a rush not thinking or comparing. Did your buddy ever figure out what happened from putting the 180 in position #12?

I just tried jumping the pintle valve in the injection pump as it wasn't getting power, once I did that I could hear it open but it still won't start

If either of those blew, would that make the car not start? Thank you.

How would I find codes in the ecm? I know on my Dodge diesels I can turn the key on and off 3 times and it will show what codes are stored as well as my tuners read them but these tdis r new to me

I figured they wouldn't turn on when warm, but the guy did let me know they don't work, they used to live in Alberta and would have a hell of a time trying to start it. Once I get it, I'll put a new relay in and hopefully that fixes her up. Thanx man.
