I have not been on this particular forum in many, many moons. Didn't know you weren't feeling well, but I very much am heartened to hear that you're now feeling better.
Wellness in general is a struggle, but the black dog of depression has a tendency to lurk at the doorway even after we think...
Good point on the link, but the spacing of gaps and holes on the one I have fits the front end of a B4:
Whereas the B3 front bra is very different with hole placement and spacing due to the different front end:
So yeah: I am negotiable on price and would like to see the cover and fuel...
Took me a few days to grab the photos but here you go:
So: the font appears to be OEM to me. I couldn't find a tag or listing of manufacturer when I looked over it. Hood, front, and even side bumper coverage from this setup. Space for fog lights and pre-cut holes for the front license...
On Monday I... cleaned out the crawlspace and found a handful of remaining B4 goodies:
Hengst fuel filter
OEM black "leather" bra
Anyone interested? Will let them go pretty cheap + shipping. Just need them gone.
Today, I shipped off my B3 manual window regulators compliments of Steve passing the buyer to me some ~1.5 years after I first listed them. Many, many thanks Steve.
Today, I also checked in with the new owner of my old B4V and found out it has reached 280k miles, which is satisfying...
I felt this was worth responding to separately - in short, far too many people have reported their EcoDiesel engine grenading at crazy low miles... and then NO warranty support of any kind from Fiat/Chrysler... for me to chance it. I have a friend with an EcoDiesel Grand Cherokee and he is...
Bob, I just drove home tonight from a friend's house via mostly highway and the 5.0L V8 Cummins returned 18.1 mpg average. It was also chilly and I still have winter fuel in the truck. Guys were reporting 22-23 mpg on the highway last summer even before break-in. Even in the dead of winter I was...
Good to hear from you! I just reached out to the buyer of my B4 because I am now curious.
My Cruze was really great but as I am 6'4", it was very unpleasant for longer trips and even shorter ones. After a great deal of soul-searching... and a SLEW of research... I settled on a 2016 Nissan Titan...
Today I found myself missing my B4 a bit (which so far as I last heard made it safely to Nevada over Thanksgiving with no problems).
I found myself missing it as I was cleaning out some storage and realized I still have that set of 4 working manual window regulators from a B3 that fit into the...
*** SOLD ***
I was cleaning up and found that these were still sitting in the box, even though my Passat B4 is long gone now.
A complete set of B3 manual window regulators, these are apparently a perfect fit for a B4 and will see you get years of trouble-free use, unlike the garbage power...
Passat B4V: sold
Today the new owner of my B4 took delivery and got some temporary tags for it:
I wish him well on his long drive to Nevada after Thanksgiving in Pittsburgh!
In likely my second last post for this thread as a B4 owner, today I:
1) removed the last of the Plastidip from the trim (as a note: NEVER apply Plastidip to anything with small edges to it. EVER.):
2) loaded the winter tires into the back of the car, which is bittersweet to load this car...
I *THINK* I sold my B4V yesterday
So yesterday:
I have been texting back and forth with a gentleman from Nevada, who has family in Pittsburgh, and yesterday I got the 1pm text that his uncle in PA could come check out the car.
So, I did the quickest wash and wax of my life:
Then, I...
Abacus told me about your car, I am very sorry :(
The problem with mine back in the spring turned out to be... the fuel tank float got misadjusted so the damned fuel tank was empty but not showing it. So with Abacus' guidance I was able to re-prime the injector pump and it runs like a champ...
