Just happened to see this thread, did anyone get the P0101 code as well by any chance?, I did and it spawned the P0229 code as well....turned out that both the MAF and air intake boot needed to be replaced, problem solved (at least for me)

Hi, I am in Woodland near Davis, you are more than welcome to check mine out, it has the BS replacement...

I just took my mod screen off yesterday and I have to say I notice an increase in responsiveness when accelerating, seems like it wasn't letting enough air through, I did use the exact same screen size as the mod article suggests. It just didn't work out for me after 6 months unfortunately.

The last few days have been cold here in the morning, around 32-34 deg (which is cold for here) and I hear a momentary knock about 2 seconds after start up then everything starts sounding normal....damn cold...

Thanks Mech, called the guy this morning and he told me the codes: P0299/16683 I did find another thread on this elsewhere on the forums and there was some good info from Harv and MoGolf. I am getting a second opinion on what should be done this morning and I will keep you updated...thanks guys...

Mo, don't know what the code was for the limp mode. It stinks alright, I bought it in 2005 with 27K on it and I haven't had any issues apart from normal wear and tear. When I got the BSM done I inspected the chain parts and they were all actually quite unworn, I could have probably driven it another 50K before getting it done. Did the GPs myself...
