going off the gauge it has never gone over straight up (210?). Coolant light has never come on either but I know it does work. maybe it's just not getting hot enough which I guess is a good thing.

1998 Tdi Jetta. Cooling fans not coming on when engine gets warm. They do when the A/C is clicked on but they need to be recharged. Replaced FCM, temp sensor. Jumped the fans directly and they work high and low as they should when jumped. Fuse under the dash is good as is the FCM fuse...
