Time will tell.........personally I don't think is HPFP issue unless VW has 2 different versions of the pump for Europe and rest of the world. I spend 2-3 months in Europe every year and have a good friend (from school years) who works at VW dealership. He hasn't seen one, not even one HPFP...
That's pure luck! Did you have any hiccups/issues installing the 2 micron kit/s Starting issues in the morning?
It'll be very interesting when you take HPFP apart and confirm if the failure was in the high or low pressure.
Presuming that there isn't any truck or SUV behind you, if there is one rear-view mirror=useless.
Every setup has +++ and --- but if you know that and have your own system that works it's ok. It'll be a big success to make people look at the road here in NJ forget about the mirrors :)
I totally disagree with "The Society of Automotive Engineers"
Side mirrors aren't use for blind spot only, driving in reverse using side mirrors (not your neck) is impossible with this setup. Also with this setup you won't see some Ferrari flying in the lane next to you until it's in your blind...
dog mount insert install (easy way)
I'd like to get together for a beer or two and swap cars for a test drive, but Denver is a bit far for me :)
Did you install short shifter or planing to install? Makes big difference, I think it's a must for 3 pedals cars. The stock one has 1 foot throw, my...
Ask them, I'm sure they can do the service for free after the 3 years (2 months difference) if not you can insist to have you service done at 28K no big deal, it's just oil change. I had my last oil changed at 29K + they changed the HPFP :( When I was waiting to pick my car was talking with the...
Sorry about the font, didn't mean to shout or put any feelings in to it.
Which insert you have? This friend of mine used the ECS (red one) and the install was very easy. Took me 15 min. to lift the car and take of skid plate and 5 min. to install the insert and torque the bolts. Wonder why it...
You’re happy with the dogbone mount insert?! I put one on a friend’s 2011 JSW, horrible rattle and vibrations!
He insisted to keep it for “brake in” 6000 miles later he ask me to take it out. If the car is for track use only I’ll definitely use one, but for everyday driving definitely not.
I...
"Illegal" or "Not Approved"
From DOT site:

"Although both planar and non-planar rearview mirrors have a long history, questions regarding human performance with non-planar rearview mirrors have persisted. Non-planar mirrors, such as convex...
Few more tips:
Some folks had issues with the aux pump exit fitting (leaks) also getting to the spring clamp with pliers almost impossible. I had to remove the first 2 fuel lines from the filter. Pull the spring clamp back and the pull the line and turn at the same time clockwise so you don't...
2 hiccups:
I used VCDS to prime the system (didn't preprime the filter) 10x 30sec. and couldn't start, so 3 more minutes and was able to start the car. Total 6 min.
After the first test had a small leak, my mistake I used wrong clamp. I put the one of Andrew's gear clamps on the temp sensor...
If you ask me, the whole world is upside down this days :)
I've noticed but it won't be in front of my eyes.....
I'll keep an eye for leaks for the next 3-4 days.
Thanks
Another successful installation
I got my kit on Friday, the quality of the parts is out of this world!
Installation was easy, took me 3 hours and 3 beers :) for everything (install/priming/testing) I went with 1 micron filter.
The last time I check Aspherical mirrors aren't DOT approved. No business here likes easy and cheap solution......has to come with fancy name (blind spot detection) it has to have at least 3 flushing lights, one buzzing/annoying sound and cost $1000
Got mine mirrors from Europe last time I was...
