    New custom boost gauge

After many years of use, the oled screen on my gauge has dimmed to the point that it was just about invisible in the daytime. A couple weekends ago, I took the gauge out with the intention of finding the part number of the screen. It ended up being a UG-6028GDEBF01 which has since been...

Car a total Loss... what next

Sounds like the body shop took the headliner out when inspecting the roof and it needs new clips. Anybody know where to get them (and part number)?

Car a total Loss... what next

Just heard back from the insurance company.... the salvage value came out as $1467, so after buyback, I'd get a check for $4840. Not too shabby I'd say. Makes the decision pretty easy. :D I'll go pick the car up tomorrow so I can ditch the rental car.

Car a total Loss... what next

That was my first thought as well, but unfortunately it doesn't work that way. I checked with the work insurance people the day of the incident to find out.

Car a total Loss... what next

I hope it's nowhere near that, or it wouldn't be worth it at all. If the salvage came out really high, I wonder if I could somehow get a partial claim or just void my claim, it's not like the car is un-driveable or anything.

Car a total Loss... what next

Pretty much the whole car got damaged in some way. The roof was the worst with a couple large dents and a crease where the panel was stretched. They didn't see all that initially, so 20+ hours of labor were added to fix it. Here's a link to the final estimate if you're curious. Estimate

Car a total Loss... what next

So we had a pretty severe wind storm in Portland a while back, and a large limb managed to fall on my car while parked at work. Pics There are some pretty good dents on the hood, front fenders, and roof, but nothing that is too crazy, and no paint is flaking or anything yet. I could probably...

    Exhaust questions (2.5" vs. 3")

recieved parts! I thought I'd post an update. I found that Kerma was having a sale and inquired on the J downpipe (since the site seems to contradict itself on its stock status). In the end I ended up getting everything from Kerma. I recieved everything within a week and just took everything...

South bend stage 2 with 17lbs flywheel Squeaking?

Mine squeaks too, but only when starting from a stop. Other than the noise it works well, but the noise gets on my nerves a bit.

    Exhaust questions (2.5" vs. 3")

I'm not sure about jptbay but the reasons I'm considering the IDparts downpipe over the Kerma ugly pipe (the only one in stock atm) are: - Stainless vs. aluminized steel - single piece vs. (3) piece construction - very little cost difference - longer flex section

    Exhaust questions (2.5" vs. 3")

I think I might end up going with this option. It's a bit more money overall but should be a little quieter and be top quality.

    Exhaust questions (2.5" vs. 3")

Anyone use the IDparts downpipe with the kerma catback (since it's much cheaper than the IDparts one)? Otherwise, it seems like the 2.5" Buzzken system might be the best lower cost option.

    Exhaust questions (2.5" vs. 3")

Sounds like you guys think 2.5" may be the way to go. Has anyone here heard the 3" system? I definitely like the price of the 3" system versus the others I've found. Are there any other turbo back systems you'd recommend?

    Exhaust questions (2.5" vs. 3")

I think it's about time to upgrade my exhaust and am wanting some feedback. I'd like to keep the noise down (ideally not much louder than stock) but want it to be much more free flowing. I plan on keeping a cat on the car. I'm currently thinking about the 2.5" system from Buzzken and the 3"...

    Turbo Gernade... Questions

I just went thru the same thing, but I only lost a small chunk off the compressor impeller and it never started to pump oil into the intake. I was actually able to limp it home ~ 17 miles by staying below 5psi (risky I know). I ended up going with a 17/22, OMI, and upgraded lower pipes from...

strange chirping sound from changing gear

I hope it's not the throwout bearing since I had a new one put in when I did the clutch, and that was only 10-15k ago I think. That'd be pretty crappy to have to replace it already, I got over 100k on my last one (stock).

strange chirping sound from changing gear

Mine makes the exact same sound. I was wondering if it was one of the springs rubbing on something since I thought I read something about that a while ago. It still seems to work well, just a bit noisy when working the clutch. Has anyone had a look at the flywheel/clutch on a car with this issue?
