Interested in the injectors. I have a cr170 turbo and a malone stage 3.5 tune on a cjaa engine. Do you think these would benefit my setup anymore or do you think I'm already at egt limits?
Thanks!
I bought a front and rear 18z 'kit' from rotorlab. Not sure what vehicle he sources his rotors from, but I know he machines the mounting surfaces down on the calipers to fit. You'll need a bolt kit with sleeves and you'll need new brake lines. I may end up running a bigger audi mc if I'm not...
If you were really worried about the turbo being heat soaked I think I would have a strap on thermocouple on the housing and monitor it...Or you can just use your egt gauge to monitor peak temps and drive the car easy for the last few miles home and then let it idle for 30 seconds to a minute...
I was looking at water/meth and cp3 is definitely on the list when I do the timing belt.
I’ll probably stick with the cr170 until it craps out, though…then I’d like to do a little larger gtb. I feel like I’m at the limit of the factory dsg dual mass so until there’s an upgrade available for it...
I've had the stuff for years, but turbo was a used bv43a...same with the inlet hose, tune is malone, exhaust is rawtek, and install gaskets were either idparts or local dealer.
Dsg tune is done…big thank you to MF Auto in Knoxville for their help on that one.
Went from bone stock to cr170, stage 3.5, and DSG tuned. Wow is all I can say. Runs like a raped ape now!
Next up is a limited slip.
None made that I’m aware of. Pretty sure it’s due to the airbag located in the a pillar. Wouldn’t want the liability of those gauges becoming missiles at your face during a wreck….
Back when I had an alh my vanes would get sticky if I didn’t drive it hard enough to keep them exercised. I’d take it out on a back road in 3rd gear and on and off max throttle until they freed up; probably not the exact right way to do it, but it worked….
Got the car running a couple of days ago. Just an fyi, the egt probe that came with the cr170 bv43a turbo plugged into my harness and has been working fine, so if you can source the euro spec probe it works without a spacer.
Car goes in for the dsg tune this coming Thursday!
I kept the ecu from the last car. It has immo delete so I’m sure I can swap it into new one. If not, I’m sure I can get something worked out with the tuner.
Anyway, so no one knows if the Egt sensor from Europe will work? I think I’m going to try it and see.
