    wow, these are all great numbers you guys are hitting! the best I've been able to get out of my 89 jetta diesel with the 1.6n/a is 54mpg. Of course thats keeping it between 55-60mph on the highway.

    I pm'ed "meganuke" about changing the timing belt and if he's still around and up for doing the job, then I'll have him do it. I'd rather have a good vw tech such as meganuke do the job than myself. Although I like working on cars, I don't trust myself doing this job lol.

    I topped off the coolant and everthing seems to be fine in that department(temp gauge works, red light stopped blinking) the only thing I question is that there is green coolant in the reservoir bottle. I used this "all makes all models" green coolant since the green stuff was in there already...
