Lol yeah, I was referring to the 20th anniversary rear brakes from the GTI. Anyways, took a few days for the rear brake line to arrive but slapped that sucker on and no more leaking calipers. PITA for some simple little crush washer but next time I think I'll swap out to stainless brake lines...

Not really concerned about the bleeding sequence, Bently has two bleeding sequences to follow that includes FL, FR, RR, RL depending on which ABS module you have. Bleeding procedure would have nothing to do with a leaking seal. Anyways, I'm replacing the line and hoping the new washer on it...

In two weeks I'm traveling back to Minnesota from NY for a week and I'm looking to get my timing belt replaced. I know everyone recommends deafbug but not sure how to contact him or if he's still doing timing belts. Can anyone recommend a good mechanic to do my timing belt or pass along his info?

In the service manual it says to drain it for every oil change. I did that only twice since there was never any water in there to begin with. Every time I have to change the fuel filter, I do drain it just to see how much water is in there. Usually there is none or just a thin film.

Alright so I bought a case of this stuff only to realize that it's not approved for my engine (BEW). It's going to be a big hassle to get this shipped back.......so should I run it in my car? Anyone have experience with this in a PD-TDI?

Used, I don't know. But when I had went to the dealership they had wanted something like $150 for an unpainted housing. I just went out and bought a stubby mirror (with glass) instead and called it good for about $120 with shipping.

If it's just body panels, no problem. Anything past that then you're in trouble.

I drove by my local station today. $2.99 RUG $4.30 Diesel 60% drop in crude oil prices.....I'm sure as hell not seeing that reflected in diesel around here. Long Island, NY.

Meh, drove by the station today and it was posted as $4.35 LI, NY. I'll be happy to see diesel below $3.00/gallong. Chances are in NY, it'll never happen. I still see people charging $4.69+ for diesel out here. And they should burn in hell for it. Cause that's price gouging without a doubt.

Ugh, I just saw diesel going for $4.47 at the local station in Long Island, NY. Crude may have dropped significantly recently but I sure don't see that really reflected in diesel prices around these parts.
