Yeah, I guess I should have given comparison numbers. :o I would say it is about the same. Normally I get around 34 in city/local and 45 highway.

Just went and filled up with my second tank of ULSD. First tank yeilded 37.6 mpg. I would say about 60 - 70 % was highway and the rest local driving. Also noticed less smoke on initial startup and there does not seem to be an performance changes.

My '03 Jetta at 55,000 miles had clogged intake and EGR. I had similar symptoms, sometimes it would start, sometimes it wouldn’t, big clouds of smoke when it did. Since having it cleaned all is fine. Dealer was very expensive. Do it yourself if you know how or find a guru.

I have had a 2 to 3 second delay in my 03 auto Jetta since day 1 in both forward and reverse. I did read somewhere in this forum that this was normal. It never took 6 seconds though.

Haven’t replaced as many as you but I am on my third taillight bulb on the drivers side. All other bulbs are original.
