    I have oem axles and if I hold my mouth right think I can feel a vibration only in 5th. Probably something else beside the axles I'm thinking but I'm enjoying this car before I give it away.

    I've never experienced an int k1 short to ground before. Without having my books here, how does one find the path of the k1, and how can one troubleshoot what is shorted ? Is the shorted k1 what is causing the no comm to the ecu ? This has me perplexed, and not being in the shop makes feel...

    So theoretically, I wonder if it's possible that when The Neighbor jiggled the ignition switch to make whatever magic happened occur, I wonder if it sent a voltage Spike to the ECU and fried it ?

    I have an ignition switch and 175 enroute. One scenario I've never explored and I ask this here now, will the 109 display at least the gp dash icon without having a working ecu ? Its a simple key on function, isn't it ?

    I'm going to pull the clam shell off the column and look at the switch harness connection. I can't wrap my head around the progression of an immobilizer no start, then it starts, now what appears to be a classic 109 failure. But electricity is weird.

    Front Hub Puller mkiv

    I could do that, or remove the hub and walk it over to the press and push the button.... but I'd like to find a puller that fits and use that.

    I typically use my hub shark to pull the hub, but a slide hammer is much faster. Autozone has two, but neither match up to the lug nut holes. Is there one that is guaranteed to fit ? Thanks

    Post some pics of the engine from the front side, and some of the timing belt area without the cover on the belt. New head ? Stripped bolt holes ? It'd be easier to see the condition of the engine to help with your explanations.
