I bought platinum gray metallic. DSG, RNS-510 (should be nice on the upcoming trip to DC), BT, sunroof, upgraded wheels.
Yeah, I wasn't impressed with the 2011.
I would like to see VW put a diesel engine in the Passat again. I would like a bigger back than the Jetta.
Zero % financing for 60...
In my oppinion the tech story is in fact how VW approves or denies coverage. I am sure that the tech line gives them direction but the tech "on the ground" has to draw conclusions and make decisions. I think that a local VW tech specialist needs to be called in to review such falures. There is...
I know that many of you will not agree with me but I don't feel that there is an issue with the fuel pumps. There are some isolated failures but I don't feel like it is a massive "problem", however if I can contribute to the research done by some of the members here I gladly will.
2009 Jetta...
Independent mechanics don't make mistakes? Even best of the best err. The question is what is done after the mistake is done? I have seen enough "butcher" jobs in my life to tell you that I would only service my car by a dealer.
60000 TDIs sold in the US? There are 32 cases being mentioned here. There are probably more cars that have been totalled in accidents. Should VW redesign the Jetta and turn it into like a Panzer tank?
I am sure that it hurts when you get hit with a 10K bill. Turn it to the insurance, pay...

By telling a customer to go and do business elsewhere you basically cheated the dealer. How would you feel if someone did it to you? Dealer or not a dealer that is a bad way of doing business.
I would never buy a salvage or buy back. Not worth the risk. Spend a few dollars more and get a clean car + add extended warranty (good one, also not garbage). Its worth the money, especially if you will keep the car for a while. Its a good investment.
On BMWs that only applies to gasoline vehicles. I am sure that he told you that. I haven't heard about any BMW diesel vehicles having problems. Also, gasoline in the US sucks, so I am not surprised to see that and many customers who can't afford their cars but still want to drive in style fuel...
Nothing in this world is "maintenance free".
Biggest error consumers make when they buy a new car is that they don't factor maintenance expences in their budgets. Auto industry has shot itself in the foot by making it seems like moders cars don't requite maintenance. I have never seen any piece...
