Well, 2004 Jetta TDI is in possible "Limp mode" Symptoms; Flashing glow plug light, check engine light on, no acceleration, however car idles and starts just fine.... Car ran great all day, it did rain pretty heavy, drove about 50 miles around town in the rain, car ran normal and got me home...

I was surprised as well especially considering I hot rod it everywhere I go! However I was changing out that 5w-30 every 5k miles to the mile though so im sure that helped a bit. I'll now probably wait 10-15k per oil change on this 15w40. :)

Thanks for your input Oilhammer, Unfortunately i do not have that booklet, my manual has the oil article in manual 3.4 on page 40 and it does not specify weight. I have however read 5w30/5w40 is whats recommended. Im going to run this oil and maybe send a sample in for testing after 10k miles...

This oil is a full synthetic! Thanks for the Prompt response guys. I have read the Manual as well, it dosnt specify oil weight in my Manual it just specifies that Oil must meet 505.01. Obviously I want to go by what VW recommends. Specifically what they recommend for the Nevada desert. Las Vegas...

Is there a scheduled maintenance time to replace Glow Plugs? I as well have a 2004 Jetta TDI. It has 160k miles, I picked it up with 140k last year and i'm not sure if or when it ever got new Glow plugs!
