I decided after much deliberation to sell my 2010 Jetta TDI Sportwagen back to VW. Because of that, I have some items that made my time with the car more useful and more comfortable.
The seat covers were custom made for the Jetta sportwagen. They're great, the seat heaters work just fine...
My 2010 Sportwagen is running just fine at 75K miles but I seem to notice more vibration than I used to - maybe it's just me, but I was curious if others out there have noticed this and could it be worn motor mounts?
Thanks in advance for your comments.
My 2010 now has 65K on it. The sunroof leaked and was repaired under warranty. The radio died and had to be replaced under my extended warranty. Other than those two items I have had no problems. It's a great car.
I've got about about 10,000 miles on my Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Seasons and have no complaints whatsoever. And they are mileage rated at 70,000. I went up to the 225/50R17s in size.
My stock head unit (radio/satellite/media not navigation) went completely dead without warning about 6 months ago. Now the replacement (replaced under my extended warranty - cost me $100 deductible) went dead this afternoon, again with no warning. 20 minutes into my drive it came back on...
I'm coming up on 4 years now on my battery and wondering what other's experiences have been - how long should I expect my battery to last?
I'd rather replace it before it strands me, but is 4 years too soon to be worth it?
I replaced mine with the Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus tires in 225/50r17 size and I couldn't be happier. Quieter than the oems, they ride extremely well and are a 70,000 mile rated tire.
Replaced my stock Conti's at 50K with the Pirelli Cinturato P7 Plus in the slightly larger 225/50R17 size and just got back from a 2,000 mile trip. Couldn't be happier with them. They seemed to be quite a bit quieter than the Conti's and handled very well (though driving was on basically dry...
There are a lot of good sunshades out there, but for sheer convenience I bought, and love, the accordion shades from Eclipse. They attach to the windshield so there's no reaching back, finding and then unfolding - just pull the two halves together.
Interior storage has been an issue with the sportwagen for years. That's why I (and many others) install the front under-seat storage drawers... they aren't very large themselves, but they do help.
I had to take my jsw in to have both the front and rear sunroof drain lines replaced under warranty due to leaking - VW knows that there was a problem with those drain lines and they have a repair kit for the dealer. It's a pretty big job, but since the replacement my car has been dry even...
Does anybody know of a car cover that covers only the roof and windows?
I had one years ago for a different car and would love one for my sportwagon but I haven't been able to find one.
My 2 cents - I bought several 59 cent bottles of hot sauce at Smart and Final.
The bottles are glass and have a capacity of 5 or 6 ounces. After emptying the contents down the drain and washing them out I measure in 2 1/2 fluid ounces of water and draw a line at that point with a sharpie...
