I was doing work in the valley of a newly acquired 2013 Touareg and found the pressure retention valve had been removed and a simple tee was in its place, the thing runs and drives fine but does have a long crank sometimes when parked uphill on a slope. I'm thinking this is the reason.

Well, I bought it. Couldn't pass it up. 2012, Jetta, DSG, 200k deleted...pretty sure it has a tune (runs strong), zero rust which is rare in Iowa, a few hail dings and a couple scratches. $4000
Hello all, I’m going to look at buying a 2012 Jetta with the DSG. I own 2 ALHs and a couple common rails of different brands but I have never been around any VW common rails. What are some common things to look for? Problems, concerns, tips, anything.

When ambient temps never get above freezing, yes you could…and I 100% would get rid of it. But in the summer months when the temps never get below 80 it seems…yea I’ll keep my intercooler.
Watching temps before and after covering it last winter is what led me to cover it again. I know this new tune and turbo will be different so I will continue to monitor as well.

Just did some work to my 2000, pd intake-gtb1756, initial tune from Burpod is pretty tame (on purpose) but running very well. Cut the cat apart and knocked the guts out of it. Covered the radiator, grill, bumper vents and wrapped my intercooler for winter. Oh and put my good tires up front. Lol
Im sure it would run, but it won’t be right. Get a VCDS and an MPPS cable, talk with Burpod. You will not regret the results, his stuff runs very well and gets great milage. I have two cars with different combinations of parts running Burpod tunes and I’m very happy with them both.
I just did a SMF and VR6 clutch on my ‘01, have about 700 miles on it so far and it is silent, super smooth.
My 2000 I bought with an unknown clutch, it’s a SMF and not quiet at all, stiff pedal but very nice to drive. It has .260s and a good tune, super fun to drive.
