Toyota, Japanese automakers porking up, VW TDI mentioned

I think the above is unfair to Toyota because making larger cars is the only way Toyota was going to become a market leader. They were not going to gain market share by selling only 2 liter 4 cylinder cars. Toyota still makes more fuel efficient cars model for model compared to GM. There...

    MAF (yes another thread)

I don't think Dieselgeek sent me the wrong MAF. I don't remember the exact number right now, but I know the last 3 digits are 061.

    MAF (yes another thread)

My MAF went out some time ago. About the same time, Dieselgeek was selling their replacement MAF for $70. I installed it which restored most of the power, but now the car smokes quite a bit. Dieselgeek kindly offered a refund (but right now I don't have another working MAF to replace it)...

Why are BMW drivers TYPE A personalities?

I have 4 BMWs and a TDI wagon. What does that make me? I can assure you there are just as many bad VW drivers as there are BMW drivers. I can tell you a good story about this. I'm at Barnes and Noble and I ask the guy if they have Bimmer Magazine. He says yes, we have "Beamer"...

Gary, I went through something like that with my mom a few months ago. It's tough. Make sure you take the time to get everything you have to do done. Good luck.

    New California Chit Chat post!

The local station near my house is now down to 2.55 per gallon. I've seen between 2.49 and 2.89. Thank goodness! If you are free I have some time here and there during the Thanksgiving weekend. Maybe we can hook up for a bit.

Rocketchip visit Utah, see new thread

Re: Rocketchip/KERMATDI in Utah, Official signup list I am 50/50 since it is so far away. Best weekends for me would be in November except 12/13. If I can get an early slot on a Saturday, that would help me out.

    SFBA GTG - Los Altos - September 17, 2006

If I don't get rid of the 530i by October 2, I will have 4. Too many. By the way, somebody on the BMW E28 board who is in North Carolina said his local gas station told him gas was going up 59 cents a gallon by next week...how much higher do you think TDI prices will go???

Who's interested in getting Rocketchip'd in person

Re: Who\'s interested in getting Rocketchip\'d in pe Yes, definite interest here. If this is schedule I may consider buying a 11mm injection pump to go with Stage III... I'd prefer a one day (600 miles or less) drive if possible.

    SFBA GTG - Los Altos - September 17, 2006

First of all, it was good to see everyone again...lets not make it such a long time before the next GTG. My trip down south wasn't completely normal. First of all, after picking up my BMW transmission in Santa Rosa, I stopped by a parking lot in Novato to look at some cars (they sold spaces...

    Anyone in Oregon lifted?

What is your goal? If your goal is just to eliminate bottoming, I would recommend getting VR6 factory sport package springs and a good set of struts (Koni Reds, Koni Yellows, or Bilstein HD). My conversion was done on a wagon. The VR6 sport springs lifted the front about 1/2 inch and lowered...
