I bought my NMS (DSG) in July. I have about 10500 miles on it so far. My overall average is hovering right around 43 mpg.

More observations. My Passat takes a long time to reach full operating temperature. This morning ambient temps were in the mid 30's F. My morning trip today consisted of 1/8 mile in my neighborhood, followed by 2 miles on a 45 mph road, followed by 18 miles of interstate at 65 mph before it...
On a recent trip from SC to Daytona FL with the cruise set on 80 mph I got 42.3mpg (2013 NMS SE DSG). I usually pull better mileage around home where I average slower speeds (65 or so). I also see much much lower economy in city driving with the A/C on...
Your economy sounds about right to me...
Thanks all. I figured it was normal it was just different from what I was used to with the Jetta (similar setup) .
Btw, that picture was taken on flat ground I-95 in south GA...

I've noticed my 2013 NMS runs a little warmer than my 2011 Jetta did. Average everyday driving I see 205-209 degrees F. On a recent trip from SC to Daytona FL and back running 80 mph on cruise I saw 211-215 average temps. Economy and drivability seemed fine, but the temperature seemed a little...
Lifetime average over only 5000 miles with my '13 DSG Passat... 43.2. Lifetime average over 66k miles with my '11 Jetta 6m.... 44.8. The trend in my data shows a bigger more comfortable car with the DSG is going to get equal or better mileage over the long haul as my Jetta did. That's my $0.02...
Due to a crazy week last week I drained my tank down to just above "E". I traveled 769 miles and put 17.45 gallons in. That was in line with the economy numbers I've been seeing at 44 mpg.

769 miles on my last tank. Not impressive mileage at 44mpg but I could have made 800 miles.... Not bad considering I only have 4300 miles on the car....

Third fill up today. Hand calculated 43.7 mpg for mixed driving. The MFI2 showed 46.9mpg. It's annoying that the MFI is so far off on this car. My '11 Jetta was very close to accurate, usually within +/-.5 mpg.
I can't say I've seen gains verses my 6M Jetta, but it seems to be on par so far. It's really only conjecture until I have about a year's worth of data to average. My driving route and style is varied because I am an outside sales person, plus I enjoy some spirited driving now and again. :) My...
