@ticaf & rip_tdi
engine rpm are similar for both cars, engine covers present on both.
I'll have dealer check the oil pan shroud and if that or the acoustic insulation is soaked with oil.
It wouldn't be a shock if I find out dealer #1 who left oil marks on engine cover spilled enough to...
Warranty expires 6/2/2020 then this will be on my dime!
I have a 2015 Jetta TDI with 30k and it seems to have more unmuffled "diesel" engine noise than when it I first drove it home from the dealer in June 2017. This is noticeable when running in a garage, or idling in traffic at an...
curious why two replies seemed to indicate to hurry up and schedule at least 2a?
can anyone point me or the OP to any official site or paperwork with an actual or implied deadline? I do not believe the VW "fix or buyback x%" threshold comes into play here.
I have a somewhat vested interest...
my 02 was born with 01M slushbox, then a 5sp swap, then a 6sp swap. So it did have the bigger injection pump from the factory, and a mild injector upgrade to sprint 520's by the prior owner, and RC2+ by me. stock turbo running strong with nearly 300k on the clock. Either way I was...
My 02 Jetta 6 speed, even in stock condition, has so much power it puts a smile on my face every time I drive or pass someone on the highway.
My '15 6 speed Jetta (bought new old stock with phase1 fix) is on the opposite coast where I am working for a while. Total letdown, constant need...
dealer diagnosed same issue for me, new 2015 jetta sel tdi with 7k miles on it.
bad fan motor. ordered a replacement in and it's as quiet as can be at all fan speeds.
You will save another $1000 or soon top of it if you pay off the lease immediately--as soon as it shows up on vwcredit.com. Ignore what the dealer says. Just lease it, realize they likely jacked up the lease rate by $30/month for profit, and then laugh all the way to the bank when you get...
epsaax,
I'd go back to the dealer and show them page 3 of the USA maintenance and warranty book. Coverage The repair or replacement of wear and tear items, which are defined as brake pads/shoes...and brake disks/drums...are covered up to one year or 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first...
You'd be ineligible to have the emission equipment upgrade of you took it in with under 70k. (besides one sensor, eventually). I doubt there will be a short deadline to take it in though. Heck, GM is still hounding me to take a car in for the ignition key fix. I plan on taking mine in with...
My insurance has to pay replacement cost plus tax/title/reg. If the market cost is up then they pay more. If VW suddely clears all their TDI turnin lots at an 'any car $4,995' clearance sale, then everyone of us take a huge beating, insurance companies would win big because they will have...
congrats on risking it and making it home. now park it until he 'finds' the timing belt receipt, 'remembers' the mechanic he used to get a receipt copy, or until you use the AAA towing to have a trusted tdi mechanic do the timing belt kit.
Wow, small world...and great timing on your post. I snagged VW of Streetsboro's last Jetta S TDI on Friday. Picked it up in the rain without a proper test drive. Brake pedal pulsates badly despite them going thru the official VW phase1 checklist. Now I know what service tech to ask...
can't you get the diesel settlement court/administrator involved? pushing the issue and not giving in could help set a precedent to help others on tdiclub
Finally took it for its first fill-up. The Jetta 6M took 15.05gal to clear fuel in neck 800.2 miles (had still showed 1 bar on gauge, 10 miles to empty). Calculated 53.2mpg. MFA read 55.1mpg. I'd estimate there was still a gallon or more remaining, and that 850 miles could be possible...
Thanks. Watching the total # of VW New Diesels decrease every few days on cars.com is helping to reassure that this was a good decision. A few family members hope we stop at 3 rather than collecting the whole 'set' -- one of each color.
Somehow I just leased a third Jetta yesterday.
Complete opposite experience as the CA and SC dealerships (has to travel quite a ways to get two 6M's). Sales mgr gave 1250 off msrp plus the 8500. Zero hard sell tactics or gimmicks, and best of all he agreed to not mark up the tier1 jetta...
Read this thread titled "Canadian 'premium' diesel is mostly bogus http://www.myturbodiesel.com/threads/canadian-premium-diesel-is-mostly-bogus.11063/ The shell product has small bottle of additive in the premium diesel pump. Designed to add maybe a percent as it is pumping diesel. Of course...
Same car, second tank: 15.69 (!) gallons to clear fuel in filler neck. 553 miles driven, for a calculated mpg of only 35.24. MFA indicated 39.7mpg.
This is 6mpg less than my 6sp MKIV's worst tank. 2/3rds city driving in NV with 115 degree outside temps and climatronic AC on half fan...
