This is good advice, and so I took it. The broken glow plug has been repaired.

Sorry about that on the price. It was late and I was in a hurry. Posted now. Does $8800 sound reasonable? On the glow plug, a local diesel mechanic has removed these before without too much trouble. He says it just takes an extractor and some care.
