Turned in my car on a Wednesday afternoon (early lease termination), received email message from Chase that payment was received from VW on Friday afternoon of that same week, and received EFT on the following Tuesday or Wednesday (Monday was a holiday). Very quick process.
Vehicle turned in at 4 pm on Wednesday 12/21. Email from Chase on evening of Friday 12/23. EFT to account by following Tuesday or Wednesday (I was out of town).
Very pleased with the process.
Thanks everyone for all the great information on this site. Signing off for now. We'll meet...
Turned in car (early lease termination) on Wednesday at 4:00 pm. Received email from Chase confirming payment from VW on Thursday at 8:30 pm. Can't complain about that.
Had my turn-in yesterday. It went fine. If she inspected the vehicle, it only took minutes. I am over on miles and am waiting to see how they handle the overage. I received the confirmation email from VWGOA and it didn't say anything about an paying excess mile charge. I know what the lease...
We are in same situation. Payment is due a couple of days before turn in. Could not get an answer out of VW credit. Nobody knew the answer. Two long holds followed by disconnect. Third time in the last two months my wife has said she will not buy another VW. I guess this time she really...
Docs accepted after about 3 weeks. Appointment on 12/21 to drop car off (lease termination). I'll miss the car but I planned to buy it at lease end and will not do that with the questions over the fix. I don't want it to turn into a Yugo (apologies to Yugo owners everywhere).
I made that same decision with an Infiniti about 18 years ago. I had a very nice G20 which developed a rust spot under the door handle very quickly (less than 3 years). Infinity had a great sounding rust-through warranty but they refused to honor it, claiming that the rust resulted from...
I recently bought a 2014 CPO BMW to replace the TDI. I recognize that you are paying a premium for a CPO but I thought it was well worth it because of the warranty, plus I got a good deal on the car. 28,000 miles on the vehicle, with an additional 1 year or 22,000 remaining on the factory...
Uploaded requested documents on 10/12. Lease. Nothing yet. From comments on here I assume I will have a problem because my registration has only my middle initial, my license has my full middle name.
This. Love the e46. Drove one for 15 years (a 2001) and am now on number 2, a 2002 (month 3). You definitely need a good indie mechanic to keep it financially viable but awesome drivers and very reliable.
Check out the 3 series GT - the space of an SUV but drives much closer to a 3 series...
Looked at an Alltrack, a GTI and a Tiguan, drove a couple of BMWs, bought a 3 series GT last week. My third bimmer. I will definitely miss the TDI; don't think I'll miss VW.
I have exactly 40,000 on mine. I didn't do the 30,000 DSG service (I had planned to do it at 40k but then news of dieselgate hit), and haven't performed the 40k oil change. Otherwise, the car is mint.
I am running out of time to use mine. Intended to use it on tires or servicing for the TDI but I am turning it in. Looked at tire sizes but they didn't have any that fit my other cars (I have no other VWs).
What non car-specific parts/services are people spending the $500 on?
Just picked up a late model pre-owned BMW Gran Turismo last Thursday. It was between that and a pre-owned 328d and they sold the d before I could drive it.
I got rather used to the Golf hatch carting my cycle and other things around and this GT gives me more room, more horsepower and more...
Just replaced it with a BMW 328x GT. I like the TDI a lot, but too many "what ifs" to buy it at the end of the lease (which was my original intention).
