I'm not sure what you guys are misunderstanding, but that document you signed from VW will not protect you in current time if something happens. It will certainly protect you in any future litigation. When you pull the title prior to a loan payoff, the title holder and lienholder are still...
And precisely what my insurance company also said, which is why I've kept it insured. I don't think people understand that yeah, you would prevail in court, but in the short term eyes of the law, that vehicle is still legally and financially yours. Still no payoff on mine. Returned 12/17
No, I agree that in court, VW would lose, and badly. I'm simply referring to the absolute fact that until the loan is paid and the account is closed, that vehicle is still legally yours and your lienholder. You'd have to read my posts to understand, but we're in agreement. This just shows how...
Nope, this isn't true. They don't have the title until the loan is paid in full. Until then, the title and registration is in your name, and you are legally and financially responsible for the car.
That title is in the registered owners name (me) until the loan is paid in full. Try again. Also, you might consider actually reading what I posted. I said I would never file a report like that, you're confusing me with the other guy. And yes, the lienholder also has rights to that vehicle as well.
While I would NEVER do what he's suggesting, the bolded is absolutely false. Go pull your registration records before the car is paid off and report back to this thread. I can tell you that my car is still currently registered in my name, and I am still legally and financially responsible for...
I thought the same thing, but they used the only payoff quote they pulled for mine. I thought it was odd, but with VW, nothing is surprising anymore. Like you said though, I should be getting the overage so no worries......yet.
Like I told you guys, I'll be the guinea pig for this as I'm not making another payment. As far as I and the law are concerned, I haven't owned my VW for almost 2 weeks. I'm 99.999% sure someone at VW realizes that interest is accruing on those accounts and we are getting screwed out of that...
It's true, and they have been nothing but awesome so far. They've gone out of their way to help a customer get answers by contacting VWoA and the Claims Department directly. I have nothing but respect for VW Credit, and it's unfortunate that they will suffer for the rest of VW's incompetency.
I just had an ordeal with VW Credit, VWoA, and the Claims Reps. I spent over 2 hours on the phone today with all 3 of these. I was very polite, but also firm in that I was not getting off the phone until I had some answers.
With VW Credit I was elevated to a manager (which has already been...
Yep, the 5 business days have also passed for me, and I can show the interest accrued as I have been taking screen shots daily to show it changing. I'll be on the phone tomorrow or Tuesday with an attorney as I'm not allowing VW to play with my credit, nor penalize me with accrued interest.
When I called after the EFT was complete, I spoke to two "high level" managers on two separate occasions. I was told that all they could do was make a note on my file, so my concerns are recorded on their end as well and attached to my file. They claimed that they have no way to stop the credit...
I'm willing to fight this fight if it comes to that because I'm 100% sure I will prevail in court. The other issues with VW could really go any way, like the stripping question everyone was wanting answered. VW still has 11 days before they ding my credit and I honestly don't think it will come...
I'm not sure why this keeps getting posted, but it is incorrect. I do not possess the vehicle and have a receipt that it was turned in for the buyback program. "Contractually", I no longer own this vehicle, regardless of what VW Credit thinks. And no, I won't be the one that's bruised, it will...
I'm not playing with my credit, they are. I have the law on my side, unlike the other steps in the process. I no longer possess the car, and they are responsible for the payoff being timely processed. This will be a much bigger legal issue for VWoA than any other one during this process.
It's also the most dangerous from a legal standpoint. They could potentially be screwing with people's credit scores, therefore causing them long term and provable damages. I have a receipt showing my car was successfully turned in to VWoA. They possess my car. They would lose in court. They...
I'm happy it's almost over for me, but damn is that a sad pic. Not that cars are living beings, but it's almost like they've been ripped from their families. Lots of good memories made in those cars.
