I have that car. It has 290,000 miles with a rebuilt motor at 245,000 miles. Dark Blue, Sunroof, Cruise, the center cup holders. I'll deliver it to you for $5,000. I live in Chattanooga, Tennessee
I would go with the Eco Hitch as well. As far as I know it's the only hitch you can get in 2" (which will save misery down the road)

As you may be able to tell from my user name, I use my 2003 Jetta Sport wagon for work so I have my seats down a lot.
One problem with having the rear seat flip up and forward is it really limits how far back I can put the drivers seat. I can't fully stretch out. The 2015's you can have the...
You are correct. The 2015 Golf's do not have totally flat folding seats. The bottom seat cushions in the rear seat do not flip up folding against the back of the drivers and passengers seats. Is this a down grade? That's up to you. It opens up the options for other things which could be an...
First off, this isn't for everybody, however the OP could make the argument that the car is better now for the small fee of only $2,000. Better being a relative word. In fact, some of the engineers who built this car may very well believe that the O.P. is making the car better. However, they...

These guys say they have one coming for the GSW soon. There site says they will have a 2" receiver option. They look like they will be the best option to me.
I can't wait until they add this feature to the brake pedal. Once you release the brake pedal the cruise would automatically kick back in taking you back up to your set speed.
Also, OP, what happens you are driving in 6th at 70 mph when you engage the clutch, and coast, (not hitting the...
I like a lot of what you said, but if you are buying a rental expecting it to take years to get positive cash flow, then I agree. Rentals only work if you get $300-400 a month in the positive from the first month on. That is what I do, and that is definitely how I will be paying for my next...
If you guys want to turn this thread into a financing thread, I'll bite. Read the book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" It teaches you to not buy a liability (car), but to first buy an asset that makes money (often times a rental house.) Then that said asset will make your car payments for the rest of...
How much was the tow rating? What numbers?
I doubt the difference in MPG's between the wagon and golf is more than 1 mpg at most. That could be made up with high mileage tires on the wagon if it's that big of a concern.
Can we get lots of pics of the cargo area and the storage that is or is not under the floor. Spare tire shots. Seats folded down??? That would make me happy.
My 2003 Jetta Sportwagen manual TDI, has the electrical gremlins. I purchased the car as a second owner at 167,000 miles with NONE of the interior lights working. My VW mechanic can NOT figure out the problem. Also, I'll randomly burn out a fuse for a taillight. The car does has a hitch and it...
