Newby wanting to convert Toyota 4Runner

Are the Toyota diesels available in the US now? When I did my ALH swap 5 years ago I looked into them and they were not allowed in the States.

Homemade adapter plate and R150f tranny

Starter at rest... has around .050 clearance. Starter engaged... There was only one bolt that interfered with another. I torqued the countersunk bolt and marked where the bellhousing bolt would pass through. Then milled a chunk out of it. Clutch is on...

Homemade adapter plate and R150f tranny

I do now...(y)...I found Jimbote's comment about machining the 3.0 flywheel to accept the 3.4 clutch and PP. So that will be an upgrade in the future.

Homemade adapter plate and R150f tranny

Here is a comparison of the 4 cylinder and the 6 cylinder flywheels.. 22RE-8 7/8" 3.0 V6-9 5/16" I plugged the 8 stock bolt holes and redrilled the 6 to fit the ALH crank. An adapter was made to use the stock V6 pilot bearing. I shaved .165 off the crank so the bearing wouldn't bottom out...

Homemade adapter plate and R150f tranny

Homemade adapter plate and R150f tranny

The green angle plate represents the engine block. The flywheel has been spaced the distance of the crankshaft. The aluminum plate is 0.875 thick which gives 0.145 clearance. I set the adapter up on a rotary table and have already cut the outside and am stating the inner circle.

Homemade adapter plate and R150f tranny

Well the `ol G52 tranny just wasn't what it use to be after several years of the "not quite right" adapter I made. I know it was over the allowed runout. So out with the G52 and in with an R150f (V6) and new 7/8" aluminum plate. Started with plotting out all the holes that I found on the...
