Problem solved! I was out detailing my car and I found a foil gum wrapper in the 12 volt outlet. I took a vacuum and removed the wrapper and now there is no more interference from my phone. The wrapper would let the phone charge but must have interfered with the ground.
Tried moving he phone all over and no luck. One thing I did notice is that if I hover (not touch) or set my phone in the passenger seat the passenger seat belt reminder comes on. The phone must produce enough EM interference to activate the sensor.
