Am I correct in my analysis - New Turbo needed?

Try the zip tie fix to see if that could help. Also I have heard that people put silicon around the actuator to reseal it. Again just low cost things to try but it does sound you need a new actuator and some people change the whole thing.

    2006 jetta BRM 37MPG??

Not sure where you live but when we drive our car to Mexico the Higher Humidity appears to drop mileage. Also I think there is an update final gear for manual transmissions which help with mileage. look around here for info.

Malone Stage 1.5 at Altitude BRM

You may have the zip tie to tight I think you want to have a next change of around 150 to 250 mbars. I drive my TDI up at Tahoe with more that enough power (6500-7200 ft)

Malone Stage 1.5 at Altitude BRM

My understanding is with stage 2 you should watch EGT but is not needed with state 1.5.

2006 Jetta tdi motor stopped running under acceleration now won’t turn over starter j

When the starter was out did you look for play in the DMF flywheel? Using a screw driver should not be able to move flywheel more that 10mm or so. Also look for bad teeth on flywheel. On fords I know the starter can bind so it does not engage the flywheel sometimes as they get old. Fix...

2006 Jetta tdi motor stopped running under acceleration now won’t turn over starter j

Yes totally agree turn the engine over by hand. To me it sounds electrical but until you know the engine is ok not worth looking at that. Once you have confirmed engine turns and belt is in good shape then look at wiring grounds, wiring harness, fuse box, and ECU. My guess is that is where...

2006 Jetta loud pop then no power

Yes check the Turbo and also the intercooler lines on the bottom of the car driver side front. Given the problem with the oil in the crank this sounds bad.

215k miles and no can wear BRM

yes just get a bypass filter kit for 2 micro filter and get a oil test every 10k or so; more often as oil gets old. Will be changing mine at about 42K this time and the 40k test came back great but I will be driving down to Mexico for the winter so want to change before I go and add about 10K...

215k miles and no can wear BRM

Use Mobil 1 TDT on my 7.3L Excursion also now at 260k injectors and high pressure pump still working great. I use extending oil changes with test on the excursion changes about 30k-40k depending on driving with filter change every 10k. Cheaper that purchasing 3 gallons of Mobil 1 every 10k :)
