I received my check some time this week - hadn't been to the mailbox. It did NOT show up on my informed delivery. It was in an envelope and a letter piece of paper, dated August 23rd.
Anyway, Buyback was March 9th, received Bosch last week in August.
I was one that had bought 12/2015, and it...
Soooo..... someone at the dealership was swapping parts, and probably charging the customer for a new one they didn't pay for....
This gives a new name to the term "stealership" - and i'd be hot and reporting it to Class Counsel and VW HQ.
I"m in the position of having purchased a former leased car 12/15 (turned in 11/15). I have no way of knowing if the leasee decided to file a claim for 1/2 of the payment. I've only seen one person post they got a partial payment.
I only know it was a leased car from the CarFax btw.
ETA: and...
So it was a prior lease that you bought used?
The $175 means you split the money with someone - so that could be the other car.
ETA: It also means I could be getting a check soon - and I'm wondering if all the 2nd batch of checks will be the smaller amount..... Hmmm.....
Huh. I'm not surprised at all - it fits the culture of the German automakers to me.
That said, a joint "how are we going to deal with the California crazy CARB crap" meeting wouldn't be unwarranted.
I'm not a lessee - I bought my car in 12/2015, and it was apparently a prior leased vehicle turn in 11/2015.
SO, I could get it all, or I could be splitting it with the prior owner from the way it reads. I just have no way of knowing which it is. I haven't seen anyone indicate they got the...
Still nothing here. I'm actually in a really tight spot money wise and could use it to help out - which of course means it will take eons.
I wish someone that owned a prior lease would chime in - still no clue if i'm getting $350 or $170. Obviously hoping it is $350.
Maybe next month....
Still waiting to hear from someone that bought a prior leased car.
And I keep checking USPS informed delivery.... what I learned yesterday is that my mail lady won't bring a package to my house when it is raining. Ok then. LOL
My insurance with Geico was $50 more a month than USAA ($100) here in Florida. Same coverage, same clean record.
Alas, my oldest is taking her drivers test on Thursday... there go my rates (she has to pay the difference).
So all have been for $350 it looks like - except for the one that the person was leasing it.
My car was a prior lease, turned in 11/15 and I bought in 12/15. I'm assuming I still might only get 1/2. It doesn't matter - it all goes into the savings account to pay on the new car.
I find it amusing that the ones quick jump to this assumption are from the West coast. CARB and the EPA..... can we toss in the coastal commission for good measure???
(3rd generation California that ran away to Florida - I can blame CARB if I want :p )
You guys are killing me on the Niro feedback!!! LOL
I'm still enjoying my Tuscon, and my parents are looking to trade-in their Passat for an SUV of the Hyundai/Kia variant.
Enjoy it!!!!
I bought a 2015 Tuscon, and my kids have more room in it in the back seat, and we find the front seat area more spacious. We don't bump elbows on the arm rest. Even my mom feels there is more space between the sweats than in her Passat.
The kids don't complain near as much when they have to go...
I did similar calculations when comparing car cars to my JSW. I needed to know how much my fuel expense was going to go up. I'm trying to ignore the reality of averaging 28mpg over my 36mpg (I have a lot of "city" driving in the winter when the snowbirds show up and clog the roads). What I find...
