    Seized brakes?

That's the plan this weekend. Unfortunately I'll be alone so I'll have to try towing my Jetta with my CRV. I'll be sure to film the whole thing to submit to America's Funniest Videos.

    Can you identify this debris?

Super weird. Can you tell how they might of fit together? Of if they don't fit together at all? Was there service done recently? Looks like it may have been a tool rather than an engine part.

    Seized brakes?

Parked my 2009 (outside/battery disconnected) back in Feb pending outcome of the settlement.;) Went to get my car for turn-in over the weekend. It started right up (gonna miss these cars), but as I let out the clutch, it was if the car was glued to the ground (or chained to a tree behind)...

    Dieselgate, The Canadian Edition

Received an email around 3pm on the same day that the offer letter was accepted and I could schedule an appointment. Earliest available date was June 5th, and it didn't seem to matter as I tried a few dealerships. All dates and all times (every hour) was open.

I never called, but it did seem like it was stuck in limbo with no communication. The emails were 24 hrs apart. I thought it was strange to confirm "documents complete" twelve days later, but it may be one process that they truly "finalized" the documents and send the offer all in one shot...

After a few minutes it comes back with "Your search returned no dealer results. >Please try a different postal code." Best part is that I used the dealership postal code :p

Exactly my thinking. Additionally, if it gets totaled this month, insurance will only give me the black book value (about $2100). Thus, I'm receiving delivery of a new gaser from another manufacture tomorrow afternoon, and my '09 Jetta will sit at the cottage until the buybacks start.

No start after fuel filter replacement

Kept bleeding more at the injectors. When they say a "stream", they mean it. I was just getting bubbles of diesel, but should have kept going. Once it started pouring out, I tightened the injector nuts and it fired right up. Wish I had thought of taking out the glow plugs earlier :) That would...

No start after fuel filter replacement

2009 Jetta (I've read every thread on here about the fuel system, but don't know where to go from here) 1) Replaced fuel filter. 2) Had my daughter with me and I got distracted...Started car without priming the pumps. 3) Ran for 15 seconds then died. 4) Primed both pumps with VCDS three times...

After 22 years, my '09 has ended my VW passion

Got a P0544 (pre-turbo temp sensor) malfunction while on a 150km drive home. Got online as soon as I got home and read all about it. Calculated soot load was at 21g. I needed a DPF regen. I had to be away for work that week, so I relented and took it to the dealer to change the sensor. On the...

After 22 years, my '09 has ended my VW passion

That was the biggest lesson...pay attention to those warranty limits. I should have disposed of the 09 CBEA before the 130km emissions warranty lapsed. Benz doesn't have the best reputation either, and I'm tentative on on the new diesels coming out (chev, mazda, etc.). Maybe I just need a few...

After 22 years, my '09 has ended my VW passion

Long time lurker, infrequent poster Just finished with the DPF (+2 catalytic converts, +exhaust flap, +++) replacement by a dealer. 133k km...3km past the emissions warranty. After 11 days of deliberation, VW Canada told me they would do nothing. Not even cover the exhaust flap extended...
