Putting in the rear fogs - sort of

    I got a couple a links for ya: http://www.geocities.com/bora20_ca/rear_fog_install.html http://www.watercooledvw.com/rearfogs.htm They're annoying. I'll probably do this too.

    Clutch slip at 20k -chip

I know youve read it, but that page says these things: <blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr>The friction ring located between the inner and outer flywheel is designed to allow the inner and outer flywheel to slip. This feature saves the...

    glow plug light while idling

Right on One of your brake pedal switches isn't working. Dunno if there is an adjustment, if not, try some kind of continuity test if you can find the connectors. If not, replace the offending part.

    glow plug light while idling

That happened with mine, the warranty replaced a brake light (allegedly), and the light ross-teched an 'implausible brake switch signal'. I also noticed after a while that limp mode would take over, then go away when the light stopped flashing. Check if your cruise control works because the...

    Air/Oil Separator

This 'catalytic separator' looks like a piperx filter, so we're paying for the filter head. I guess these could be made from almost any other combo that includes a filter, such as the PS pump above. I spose you could use a remote oil filter bracket and empty oil filter can!

    Warmup experiment

<blockquote><font size="1" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">quote:</font><hr>Factory alternators are NOT designed to be fully loaded for any length of time.<hr></blockquote> That's true, I wouldn't choose this way of doing it. But consider this: The 70A alternator is the same as you'll get...

Electrical systems in TDI acting up.

Not a solution, but another problem: The lights for my HVAC knobs don't come on regularly. Sometimes I have to turn the fan on a few times - but they don't flicker or turn off again. I wonder how to reach the plug, if that's it. Of course my glorious 2 year B2B warranty terminated 1500km before...

    TDI struts

That combo was a popular topic some time ago. Here are some: http://forums.tdiclub.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=19&t=000983&p= http://forums.tdiclub.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=19&t=001054&p=...

    Clutch slip at 20k -chip

That's how it works. About 12°C it starts, it's friggin appalling between 6°C and 9°C, and only until very very cold it is like that. Mine started right after the chip - the first go. Once the temp warms up past about 12°C it doesn't do it. I guess all you can do without changing clutch is not...

    TDI struts

Question! Does anyone near Toronto have this "spreader tool"? I don't suppose CanTire has a loan-a-tool like it?

Intermitent Sound From Left Speakers F&R

Your whole car is going "tits-up". Have you considered a car-bra? I get dew on the CDs near freezing and they skip then stop playing. Maybe that's your CD problem.

    EBC?

VWs feature page(http://www.vw.com/golf/features.htm) lists a feature called "Traction Control: EBC (engine braking control) prevents compression- induced skidding in slippery conditions" available on GLS TDI models. I never hoid of dat befoa! Is this the antishudder valve or the fuel cutoff? [...

    HEY!!! Golf A4 suspension...

I've found a few web pages that may help, you can print them out to have while you're working: http://vwmafia.net/~gtimatador/suspension.html http://fortuneman.tripod.com/suspension/install.htm http://www.geocities.com/mghunt_b5/springinstall/springinstall.html

    Locked Inside and Alarm Sounds

My driver's door wouldn't lock at all unless it was with the key - the lock was faulty there too. If the door looked unlocked and was opened the alarm tripped. The latch/power actuator assembly was replaced. The new one is very quiet, the other three are very loud. Do you have the loud one...

    Is My Clutch O.K?

It sounds normal. Do you slip your clutch a lot? If you do, it will glaze like that, but it wears off quickly. My experience has been almost the opposite - I had incredible clutch slippage, and after the one bit traffic jam I had to get through last week, it did it much less. I postulate that...

    Sunoco Gold Diesel

If you go to their "find stations" page and click only Gold Diesel w/o selecting City you'll get the list of 12 stations. There's one in Midhurst, I hope that's not too far away (it is for me, unless I'm going to Midhurst). There was one in downtown Barrie, but it's not listed there. The website...

    MAF question

The Audi A3 MAF is the newer one and has had many failures, but none recently. However, your A4 Audi uses the older type that did not fail. Some people use the older type in the newer engine, but you do not have to be concerned about that, because you already have it.

what is this a 2 door jetta?

I think it was done in the US. On someone's computer. Ive seen that picture before without the text as the C2 (or something) design study - it was lauded as "Is this the new Corrado?" on Vortex, but then the wind shifted and something else captivated everyone's attention.
