What other radios besides the RNS 315 are an easy remove & replace for the 2013 Jetta, where it's a simple unplug and plug-in?
What do you mean "Shark fin is separate from gps"? I thought the shark fin is the GPS antenna. No?
I'm still a bit unclear. Did you replace the RNS 315 with another radio, or just enhance/upgrade it for BT?
So the GPS antenna can be mounted inside the dashboard, no need for a shark fin on the roof?
And again, what is a "BT module", and how does it get added?
Thanks.
When you say "plug and play", do you mean it's a simple remove and pop in, and the plugs match up?
What's involved in adding the GPS antenna? That's for the Nav, I assume.
And finally, what's a "Bluetooth module"? Where does it go?
Thanks.
I have a feeling it's not BT capable.
What about replacing it with the better radio, which I think is the RCD 510. There are a bunch for sale on Ebay and elsewhere. Does anyone happen to know if it's a simple bolt in, plug in replacement? Or is it not so simple? And do I have to get one that's...
I just bought a "fixed" 2013 Jetta TDI for my son. It has the RCD 310 radio, which I believe is the base, standard radio. Salesman said the car has Bluetooth (FWIW). On the Setup menu, it says "BT-Audio", and you can toggle between On and Off. However, I can't seem to get it to pair. My phone...
Just did a little Googling -- you're exactly right. Electric motors are always at 100% max torque irrespective of rpm. No wonder they deliver such great acceleration. I'm gonna do a little more reading up on it.
Thank you for that.
Not familiar with electric at all, but I've spoken to several Tesla owners who all say that the acceleration is phenomenal.
So, do electric motors develop more torque just by their very nature? And if so, why?
That's exactly correct, and exactly what dealers have been telling me. And with many people waiting to do the BB in the final two months, there are a flood of these getting bought up at auction and winding up in dealer lots. In the last year, I have never seen this many TDIs available for sale...
I totally understand. I own a Passat TSI, formerly had a 2013 Jetta TDI, and just bought a 2013 Jetta TDI for my son. I've driven both TDI and TSI plenty of miles. The difference is clear to me . . . crystal.
You're probably right at 90 mph, but frankly my dear, I don't . . .
You may as well say that a TSI would get terrible mileage at 90 - 110 mph. I don't drive at 90 - 110, and I don't drive at 80 - 90 mph.
Keep in mind gentlemen, I LOVE the TDI. The TDIs get better mileage than TSI's, no...
First let me say, I appreciate the apology. The "grain of salt" remark sounded like a nice way of saying "liar", but that's one of the shortcomings of internet, rather than face-to-face communications. All good.
I didn't correct anything. The 38 - 39 was straight highway. The 33 was 50/50...
