    CJAA vs. CVCA?

Funny I was in a simular wagon camp as you. "Had" a 2011 cjaa/6 speed, loved it. Wife had a 2017 limited Impreza, loved it, great all around car. Sold the Subaru for a souless Prius Prime (almost a wagon). It has turned out to be a great run about car. As a student you would greatly benefit from...

    82 rabbit diesel pickup

Gotcha, yeah there is a plastic screen in the pickup. Were spoiled here on the west coast with no rust. I had my tank out a couple of years ago to flush very old fuel. Was surprised at zero rust but removed the screen anyway. So op where ya at?

Cars are going high-tech at the risk of software woes

And we (guilty as charged) b!tched when a spark plug was hard to change. No wonder the relatively simple early 2000's era Toyotas have crazy resale.

    82 rabbit diesel pickup

These dont have a clamp on inline filter unless its been added. Factory is a spin on (engine oil type). OP did you run thru the 6 steps above on post #6?

Any air in the filter? Check @ injectors for air/fuel in lines? What were all 4 compression numbers? Battery voltage while cranking? Power to glow plugs? How old are they? Double time out the gp's right before starting? Full advance?

    82 rabbit diesel pickup

Speaking from experiance with my 83. I can (and have) let it go unstarted for up to 12 months (garaged). As long as its run thru 2 glow plug warm ups (out of over precaution), and the advance pulled, it'll fire first time every time as if its a gasser. I HAVE had an issue with the low pressure...

explain mk6 DPF management to me please

Thats what I liked about the Kerma non delete tune. It regened fairly often but short intervals. Usually from exit to exit (1/4 mileish) as I recall. It seemed to go by an unchanged caulculated regen request over actual.

explain mk6 DPF management to me please

Pre 2015 dumps fuel to heat up DPF and burn soot to ash. Dieselgate tune = increased dump = More soot = more non removable ash = Greta happy = 2012 not = no bueno. Good non deleat tune highly recommended.

Shucks, did I fry my DPF DPS sensors?

I spent a few to many years watching dealerships screw over customers. The worst... blow hards instucting instead of asking. Cute ding bats (on purpose or not) just are treated better. Just the way its been since the beginning of time I guess. Best luck. Is your warranty still valid?

Shucks, did I fry my DPF DPS sensors?

Do NOT go on about the long story line. Thats the best possible way to give them a reason to denigh. "I dunno I got in this morning and the light was on. Sure I'll pay the hour check out. It will get covered when the problem is solved under warranty, right? You guys are wonderful, I LOVE my...

Just the tune. Removing the ridiculous diesel gate tune helps the existing components AND engine survive. Ran great

Passing SMOG with a tuned car

Sold my JSW out of state but it sailed thru two separate Ca. biannual smogs with a Kerma non delete. No issue

Service interval changed to 4800 miles / 180 days

Aside from the issue, 5000 miles should be the interval IMO.

Considering Buying a TDI Jetta SportWagen, but I have some questions

Never think factory recommended extended oil changes are o.k. Facts are 10,000 mile oil changes sell cars. Who cares as long as the car get past warranty, right? Toyota replaced thousands of stuck low tension ring short blocks on many a car owned by people who stuck to the book. Ever notice TDI...
